Morning again - and what a lovely one it is too. May well be the last one so I'm going to enjoy it.I've stripped the bed, gathered some towels and set off the washing machine, it'll be a pleasure to hang it all out before I head outdoors. There's a farmer's market locally so I may go there, I'm hoping for some lambs liver, a farmer a few miles away usually has a stall, so fingers crossed. Whilst I wait for the WM I'll simply potter around, drink coffee and read the online papers.@Chrisca - have a great time at the BBQ, it's the perfect weather for one. Hugs all round.9

Morning everyone it’s a hot one I intended doing all sorts today but it’s far to hot so I won’t be doing much at all I’ve been to Lidl and there’s some washing on the line. Gers I hope you get the liver at the farmers market. Chirsca enjoy your barbecue. It’s far too hot to sit out I will just potter about and make a lazy day of it I always think there’s plenty of bad weather to be working in. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all. 26 degrees inside already so going to be sweltering later.
Have hung out the washing and, apart from picking up a newspaper, don't need to go out again.
Had a lovely lunch sitting outside the pub yesterday but I've now got a very itchy bite on my calf, which I'm regularly anointing with cream. The nasty creatures seem to enjoy biting me!
Good result from my phone call with the surgery yesterday. By chance, or design, it was a physio who phoned me and I'm going in to see her on Tuesday. Apparently the physio services are all outsourced now so she has had to have extra training to help as a front line responder with phone calls. She actually remembered me from when I hurt my back and went to see her privately.
Stay cool everyone and hope your day goes as planned.

Morning all
Very hot here already not complaining though as I love it 😃 I have put some towels on a hot wash so will hang them out once done.
I spoke with my new lads mum yesterday and am starting work on Thursday 😬 she will be with us for the first few times, so we will go to his football match and then back to her house for lunch after, they seem to be such a nice family.
BBQ for dinner tonight dd is working late shift so just OH and I here for dinner, I will make some salads up this morning and some kind of potato or pasta.
I want to spend some time in the garden today as well.
Have good days all and take care xx8 -
Morning all and thanks @Gers for the start. After a very sticky and uncomfortable night, it's another wall to wall sunshine day here, temperatures set to get up to 29 deg, feeling like 30 at times.
Yesterday while it was still cool (well, cooler) I nipped up to the postbox, called at the Co-op for fruit (grapes, strawberries and bananas), back home for a bit of weeding, then weekly admin that included applying for various benefits that I could get now I'm in receipt of Pension Credit. The free TV licence is a "definite", the others are "may be" - a case of if you don't ask, you don't get! After wading through endless forms, providing supporting proof/evidence etc, I can see why so many people miss out on benefits they could claim.
I also took in a very heavy parcel for NDN that turned out to be dog food. The dog in question technically isn't hers, but her son's. Apparently he's been told he can't have a dog where he lives so she's temporarily looking after it while he looks for a new flat, although I think it's destined to become hers! It's friendly enough but it's a huge lolloping thing (almost the size of a Shetland pony), doesn't get enough exercise and barks a lot for attention. Methinks that's the real reason why son has offloaded it onto her.
Last night's Our Yorkshire Shop wasn't episode 4 as advertised in the TV guide but episode 3 - #4 is next week. I realise the guides are printed in advance so unexpected changes to schedules can't always be avoided but I do sometimes wonder why I bother with a guide at all, especially as I usually double check on the Freeview website anyway!
No weeding today (far too hot) or any other pressing jobs other than make a loaf and pack a bag for tomorrow. DS is picking me up in the morning for a joint birthday BBQ at his and I'm staying overnight. I won't know anyone apart from DS and his partner but it should be an interesting experience since most of the other guests are Brazilian; some speak good English, others not at all. I'm looking forward to sampling some Brazilian cuisine.
@Gers - Enjoy the farmers' market.
@WL - Pleased to hear you have an appointment with the physio and hope she can help.
@Ruby - Good luck for next Thursday with the new lad, it sounds very promising.
Have a good weekend, stay cool and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Good afternoon 😊
It’s a day to stay hydrated, for sure.
We went on our hike at the right time this morning, as once we got back to the car park, the sun was beating down. There wasn’t much shade, either. Most of the trail was going across fields. I am very tired now, as I didn’t get much sleep last night, due to the heat. Fingers crossed, I can get a snooze in this afternoon.
Our evening with friends last night, was enjoyable. We ended up having a barbecue, and I had some lovely oyster mushroom steaks, and plenty of side dishes, so didn’t miss out.
I want to put a wash on in a bit, if I can force myself to move. Mostly, our hiking outfits. It won’t take long for them to dry, either. Before we left this morning, I put a borlotti bean stew in the slow cooker. There’s some cooked chicken in the fridge, which the meat eaters can add to their portion. There’s also some coconut rice, which will go with the stew.
Hope you all have a good day 😊6
