Good morning, thanks Gers for starting us.
Up early again as it's too hot and sticky to sleep (although sitting here listening to big dog dreaming, he hasn't got a problem with it). Yesterday got up to 28 degrees and today is set to hit 32. Enough's enough now, can we have it a bit cooler please.
We have eaten our way through most of our salad, no tomatoes or peppers left. I really should go shopping to replenish, if I cba.
No other news, it's too hot to plan anything.
Rosy, sorry your DHs op got cancelled, hope they re-scedule soon.
Ruby, it's good to hear your job news, good luck.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning all. 25 degrees already in the living room so going to be a hot day.
Had a super evening out with a couple of Morris sides last night; we were at a small village in the Chilterns, where the pub landlord closed off the end of the road so we could dance. Bit of a convoluted drive to get there though, as my usual route was closed because of work for HS2.
Today I'm lunching with a couple of girlfriends at a random pub near Whipsnade. We decided it would be a central meeting point as we live in 3 different directions.
One load of washing currently in the machine and the next is ready to follow. Will meet DD later this evening to check out a birthday present for DGS2. I also have my 8.30am phone call with the GP surgery regarding my knee but I'm not expecting much from that.
Hope everyone else's day goes well and you're able to stay cool.

Good morning 😊
It is gloriously HOT HOT HOT! I might not feel the same in a few hours, as the temperature rises, but we have been enjoying a cafetière in the garden while it’s quiet.
The beds have been stripped, and one load is in the machine now, so those will all go out throughout the day. Other than that, there isn’t much planned. We are dining with friends later, so have that to look forward to. They are very good at accommodating our dietary requirements, so there’s no worries about whether or not we can eat what’s prepared.
Tomorrow, we are going on an early morning hike, before it gets too hot. The trail we have planned is only 6.7km, so no where near as long as last week. I will put a bean stew in the slow cooker before we leave, so I don’t have to think about cooking once we get home.
Hope you all have a good day 😊11 -
Morning all - I'm all dizzy with the prospect of a gloriously hot day. We've had grey and wet all week so the heat is welcome.Well done @Ruby - you'll be great with the new client. Are you keeping on the other people you have?No plans expect to get out into the sunshine. I need a couple of things so will head north for a wee while. My body is need of Vit D and today could be the day for it.I hope that everyone is doing well and enjoying the sunshine whilst it lasts. Hugs all round.12

Morning folks. Thanks GERS. Another hot hot hot one in store, getting up to 31 deg, so the windows and doors here all wide open already. Yesterday was too hot for sitting in so I got my feet up reading with the fan blowing beside me. The wind I am always wittering about was a bonus yesterday too. Sadly no wind today.
The menu plan has gone to pot. Too warm for cooking so it's salad every meal. Good job I brought plenty with me!
Have a good day folks if you can. Take care in this heat xx

Morning everyone it’s a hot one washing is on the line I’m off out to do a cleaning job in a minute I hope the sun is not on her conservatory it’s a lady I go to once a month then I’m at the charity shop this afternoon. I’ve had to try and squeeze my support socks on today I’ve got bad varicose veins and my ankles are like puddings lately I’m supposed to wear them everyday but I don’t not that I think that they have made any difference the glamour is never ending but I’ve had to wear them this week as my legs are so achy. Enjoy the sunshine if you can it won’t last forever. Chicken salad tonight. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all, thanks for the start @Gers - glad to hear the sun has reached you at last! It's a wall-to-wall sunshine day here and we'll be up to 30 deg by this afternoon with only the lightest of breezes. For once I'm glad of a cool living room!
Yesterday's weeding foray of the patio didn't last long; despite being in the shade it was still hot and my back wasn't too keen either but I'll have another short session this morning - little and often is the game plan.
Usual Friday admin to do, including applying for a concessionary TV licence. Speaking of TV, I see episode 4 of Our Yorkshire Shop is on C4 tonight but I'm not sure what happened to episode 3 - it seems to have been sidelined for ??? (probably some sporting event). Nothing energetic planned for today but there's always gentle pottering things I can be getting on with to keep me out of mischief. Fish for tea, fruit for afters.
@Ruby - Well done on the job hunt, sounds like it's all coming together.
@WL - I hope the GP phone consultation went well.
@Izzy - I don't envy you those support socks - any plans to have the varicose veins removed?
Have a good day all and remember to stay safe in the sun - slip, slop, slap as they say! Hugs if and where needed. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Morning all, glorious roday. We didn't reach some of the temps others got but still very warm. Its 22 atm. We sat out quite a bit but the NDN but 1 had their dachshund out in the garden - don't think it stopped yapping for 3 hours! I had more washing out, I've had a look but can't find enough to justify the washer going onWe are going to a garden nursery today for DS2, he wants to freshen up his tubs. Also need to stop by the chemist to pick up DGD prescription.DH has lost his phone, thinks he may have left it in the taxi going to the pub last night, slipping out of his shorts pocket. Rang the company but the driver doesn't start until this afternoon.Possibly a bbq later, we'll see.Ruby , lots of possibilities for you to decide on, well doneSlap the sun cream on ! Bye for now.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)10

Morning all
Lovely and hot here already yesterday got up to 28 🥵 I love the heat but it was too much trying to sleep in it I was still awake at 3 this morning, hence the late start from me.
Yesterdays meeting went well the football was cancelled so we went and played crazy golf instead and had a coffee, the young man was really nice and we got on well, there are some challenging behaviours but I think I can handle it, he paid for my golf and coffee which was lovely of him and such a change from poor Rob who hardly ever had a penny, his mum was going to go home and have a think and arrange who can do what and when so I am waiting to hear from her, but all being well I can do a Wed / Thursday with him. Gers yes I will be keeping my other people on for now at least, I have arranged it that I have work on the other days.
OH said he will treat us to a curry tonight, it’s a bit too hot for that meal for me but it will save me cooking so who am I to argue 😬
Dogs to be walked but it will only be a quick one as it’s too hot for them, as long as they can do their business they are usually happy with a short one in the heat.
DD is off today so we might have a lazy afternoon with the fan on and a film.
Have good days all and take care xx10
