Good morning, thanks Gers.
A bright sunny start here, with temperatures set to rise to 28 degrees. Its getting too hot again. Apologies for complaining if you haven't got this weather.
I'm up and at them feeling much better. Whatever floored me was obviously only a 24hr thing. All I had to eat yesterday was a slice of toast in the morning, and a small salad last night. DH will be relieved of his duties today.
Today I'll be playing catch up with the chores that haven't been done over the past couple of days. No idea what's for dinner, will see how I feel.
Nothing else happening, have a good day all. Take care.12 -

Not a lot else happening I don’t even think much housework will get done this week it will get what it needs there’s plenty of bad weather to catch up in . I've been ages trying to get on to the site this morning; they've obviously got a problem.
Anyway, it's already 23 degrees here and we are looking after DGS2 today so will have to sort out things to do in the cool. We can potter up into town and get a few bits of shopping then maybe go to the park, but some of the equipment gets very hot in the sun, such as the slide.
After that DH and I are both out at the same venue this evening, so I've offered to drive so that he can have a beer. Contacted the GP surgery yesterday about my knee pain since dancing last week and they have booked me a phone call for tomorrow morning. Better than nothing but I've no idea who it's with and I'd have preferred someone to actually look at my knee
TA; I hope you're recovering from your fall down the hill and everyone else is able to stay out of the heat.14 -
Good morning
Thank you for the start @Gers
I'm human and I've just had to login in, no idea why, I usually stay logged on.
Should be going on my walk this morning, not sure as it's already very warm.
TA and TAFF OH, hope you're both feeling better today.
Rosy hope all went well for OH
Remmie pleased you're feeling better
Mehefin belated happy anniversary,
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.13 -
Morning all,Thank you for all the good wishes for DH knee op yesterday. He went late morning only to be told there was a technical problem in the op theatre. After waiting for a couple of hours he was told it would have to be re-scheduled, so he was sent home ! His consultant was very apologetic but didn't know when it would be, he was talking a matter of weeks so we'll have to see. He was very downcast as he'd psyched himself up for it. One upside is that it won't be as difficult to pick DGS up, as DS1 normally helps but he's not available for a few days.DGS was very pleased to see him! I hadn't got any tea out for him though so it was a bit of a make do.TA sorry you've had a tumble , that sounds nasty. Taff hope OH is improving.I have a food order coming at lunchtime, it was the earliest slot I could get using my midweek pass.Hugs to all in need. Still a bit cloudy here but getting warmer.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)12

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
I haven’t been able to post the past couple of days. Not feeling great as have a few issues at work - not sure I want to continue with it tbh as it’s compromising my professionalism and integrity. It’s a NWD today and we are off to !kea to look at storage solutions for DS2’s bedroom. Distraction tactics. It’s beef curry for tea - a new recipe so hoping it turns out okay 🤞🏻
Have a good day all

Morning folks and thanks GERS for the early start. The temps are already building for the promised heatwave. It's 23 deg here already - and rising. Eeek.
Just been hosing all the plants that DD has put in tubs and pots surrounding the decking here before our hose pipe ban comes into effect tomorrow. I suspect they will all soon be dead in this heat. Such a shame.
I feel fine now after my battle in the brambles and undergrowth. The bruises are coming out now but the thorn damage is on the mend thanks to regular applications of antiseptic ointment.
ROSY sorry your DHs op didn't happen. I hope he hasn't long to wait for a new appointment. TAFF how is your OH going on? Take care all stay safe in this heat x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning everyone
Yesterday was a lovely sunny day and today is forecast to be the same. Yesterday afternoon I got several little jobs in the garden done as well as sitting reading for a while. Also went over to my friends for a cuppa and a natter.
I have some ironing to do before work this morning.
Rosy that was disappointing for your DH, I hope he doesn't have to wait too long
Remmie good news that you're feeling better today
Best get on...hope everyone has a good day today x

Morning all
Lovely bright day here again and warm already wm is doing its thing and will be hung out once done.
I had my telephone conversation yesterday and got on really well with the lady, we were on the phone for 50 minutes she actually offered me the job yesterday 😃 but I said I would like to meet her son first, so i am going to meet them today while he does his football for people with Autism, I have now been offered three jobs 😬 but I really like the sound of this young man so hopefully we will get on ok today, she was fine with what I said I would charge which I have put up since Rob left, so I just need to have a good think about all of the jobs but think I already know deep down.
Dinner tonight will be Spag Bol although it’s probably a bit hot for that but I’ve got the mince out now so will go with it. I will walk the dogs once I am back from my meeting later on.
Rosy your poor DH hopefully it won’t be too long before they reschedule xx
Mehefin Belated Happy Anniversary to you xx
Coxy sorry to hear you are having trouble at work, something I have learned over the years is life is too short to be unhappy at work, hope you get it sorted soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Thanks for the start @Gers, morning all. Dry and sunny with a light breeze today and temperatures up to 27 deg, feeling more like 29 deg in the afternoon.
I've had my first cuppa of the day while I decide what to do today. It usually goes along the lines of what needs doing/where do I need to go, followed by what else could/should I do and then what would I like to do! The main job today is grubbing out weeds from between the patio paving slabs while it's still shady around that side of the house. The weed killer has worked to a certain extent but all the dead stuff still needs clearing out.
First though I need to ring DS to wish him a Happy Birthday - 44 today, where have those years gone? Tea tonight is a cheese & onion crispbake with oven chips (air fryer rather than oven) and salad. Fruit for afters.
@remmie - Pleased to hear you're feeling better today, take it easy for now though.
@TA - As above!
@WL - Phone consultations seem to be the norm these days - maybe you'll get an in-person appointment after the phone call.
@Rosy - That must have been so disappointing for your DH, I hope he doesn't have to wait too long for the op to be rescheduled.
@Coxy - It's awful to feel like that about work, been there myself a couple of times during my working life. I hope Ikea takes your mind off it a bit.
Take care all, stay safe in the heat if you have it - sunscreen, plenty of fluids etc. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9
