Sainsbury's coupons not refunded automatically for grocery orders with cheaper substitutes

I found this out from a Facebook post and went to look on my Sainsbury's receipts, only to find, it had happened to me too!
If you use coupons to buy Sainsbury's shops, to the point where the shop is basically all coupon, a few quid cash, if they can't fulfill a particular item and replace with significantly cheaper, they don't refund the unused coupon value.
I messaged them about this on Facebook and they said it should have happened automatically and they gave me a coupon in my account straight away. However, this was months after the guy had posted about it on Facebook... So it looks like they're not doing anything about it.
In our case we had a big multipack of nappies replaced with a single pack, which reduced the shop by £20, I missed out on £5 of coupons until I realised.
Be warned!
P.S. the reason I use coupon is because my work scheme gives 5% off them, which over the year is a lot of money, so I buy a lot of coupons
