Forum performance issues - thanks for your patience

Hi everyone,
We know the Forum’s performance has been sub-optimal over the last few weeks, and for that we can only apologise. The site’s been experiencing stability issues, resulting in the ‘Gateway Timeout’ messages you may have seen. The Cloudflare ‘Verifying you’re human’ checks have been temporarily put in place at various points to help stop the timeouts, but these checks have not been working as intended - they should only have been occurring every now and then rather than on every click / page load.
We’ve been working with our internal tech team and that of our platform provider to resolve the matter, but due to the size and unique nature of the MSE Forum unfortunately it’s not been a straightforward fix and the effort is still ongoing. We share your frustrations and we all want normal service to resume as soon as possible, so we want to thank you for your patience while the situation gets sorted. The team will post updates as and when they can, and we want to reassure you that we’ve made this a top priority for our provider.
But, fair warning, it won’t be an overnight job, and we ask you to bear with us in the meantime. Please continue to let us know about any glitches, bugs and errors you’re seeing as this helps us monitor the situation. If you post any screenshots, please make sure any sensitive info is redacted.
Also, a gentle reminder about this section of the Forum rules:
“Our team are human, have feelings and run this Forum to help you”
We’re open to fair criticism and know you’ll want to air your disappointment, but unfortunately we’ve come across one or two posts that cross the line into abuse. We're as frustrated as you are by the issues and we’re working hard to get everything fixed, but Forum rules still apply so please keep the community a respectful space - both for the people who use it and the people who maintain it.
