Hi
My daughter lives alone in her own house, so she normally gets reduced council tax (only one person in the property. Currently she is having mental & physical health issues and is living with my wife & I. Is she liable to pay more council tax? Does anyone know what the situation is?

where is she actually living? I mean what address does she give the bank, GP, HMRC etc etc ?
I think there is a period of time that the property has to be empty for, before the "empty homes" tax comes in - hopefully they wouldn't consider that it is a second home0 -
If she is just staying with you for a few months, then that probably will have no effect on her CT liability. However she should inform her home and contents insurers if she is away for more than 30 days.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
