Good morning, it's a sunny start here.
I know I'm up ridiculously early, but once my eyes spring open I'm up. Well, I'm saying that, it's not quite the case. I've actually been awake since 4am but getting up then was a step too far even for me! I just wish my eyes sprang open a bit later, 7am would do.
Our Australian family will be arriving in the late afternoon I think, so we're looking forward to that. They'll be staying in an AirbnB nearby.
Mehefin you've been busy, it's sad that people leave so much litter on beaches though.
DP1 hope you get the drain problem sorted.
I've got various jobs to do today, household stuff, and Ds1 has requested that I buy some pease pudding and ham, so I'll do that. You can take the lad out
of the North East but the you can't take the North East out of the lad!
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.

Yes, I am human!Dry today, sunny with cool blustery winds.Jobs today are planting the flowers I bought yesterday into pots and making some cupcakes for DS's stepson's birthday BBQ on Saturday. Morning all - thanks for the start @Scarlet - enjoy your Aussie folks.I left Glasgow in bright sunshine yesterday, had a lovely drive for most of it then the rain broke through again. By teatime the mist / low cloud blocked out the countryside. Anyway, I had a great time with pals, lots of chat, a tasty chicken risotto (not my usual fare) and a few sips of wine. It did me the world of good. Now I'm off up north for a short shopping trip, nothing much. I'll read back when I'm home but hope that all are doing at least OK.Hugs all round.14

Good morning
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons enjoy your time with your family
Been awake since about 4, difficult getting on here, pleased to know I'm human.
No rain forecast but it's thankfully much cooler.
Nothing planned, no surprise there.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.13 -
Morning All
Lovely and bright this morning, will put some washing out once I've had a shower. The weather was good yesterday, got all the bedding dried and back on the bed, cut the grass just before the rain arrived.
I was up and out early yesterday as DD had to take her van up to Glasgow for an MOT, the little one came with me then we picked up DD and went to Queen's Park for a good walk and had time at the playpark. Went for a coffee and pastry nearby then took the subway into town for a little look around, wasn't there long as the van was ready. Called at Ikea on the way home to get the little one her beloved plant balls!
I've a few things to do today to get tidied up before I go to The Netherlands tomorrow morning - really looking forward to seeing DS2 and his partner in their new home. They had solar panels fitted yesterday so I'm sure I will be shown how all that works.
Well done on the beach clean Mehefin.
Enjoy having your family nearby Scarlet, how long will they be here?
Hope the job hunting goes well Ruby.
Right, off to the shower then a trip to the allotment. Take care. XX11 -
Morning all
Bright and sunny day here which is lovely, we are off to Butlins in Bognor for the day which my other two people are really looking forward to, we tried to book last year but Robs mum refused to pay for him so that meant no one could go 🙄 we are all taking our swimming gear and will have lunch there too.
My zoom interview seemed to go well yesterday I just have to wait to hear from them now, I also applied for another job looking after a young autistic man fairly locally, I am going to have a chat with his mum over the phone tomorrow but I do like the sound of that one.
Dinner tonight will be Jacket potatoes with salad and ham and cheese, dd is doing a sleep in so just OH and I here for dinner.I had a terrible nights sleep and was still awake at 4 this morning, so an early night is on the cards for me.
Floss it’s the opposite with my mum she kept telling me to sit down yesterday, but I said no mum I am here to work, I got loads done yesterday and cooked her a meal, and we did a meal plan for next week, so when I go Monday I will cook her four dinners and then we will have a ride out somewhere.
I emailed the MP yesterday and got a generic reply back but at least the ball is rolling.
Scarlett enjoy seeing your family xx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -

Morning all..OH came off his bike last night nd lost his phone so a new one is on the cards now. We did go back and look for it but osmeone had probably lready picked it up [ we rang it where he fell etc] He's smacked himself in the ribs with the handlebars and is doing a lot of shouting when moving, so it may be a trip to urgent care later on, we'll see. Not much planned for today, possibly allotment. i painted the shed black yesterday where it wasn't already covered and moved some logs. I did need OH to help move the last one but that's not going to happen now so I need to think of something else. Messaged a plumber about fitting an outside tap and removing the sink so hopefully he will come this week and take a look.Ruby, just pace yourself too, don't go all crazy taking too much on! Have a lovely time too. Mehefin, try freecyle, or see if there's a charity that will take them. There's one called Forest something that might take them, ir the BHF or someone. camelot, have a lovely time away! Gers, hope the weather is good for your next drive
Scarlet, enjoy your Australian meet up! Coxy, sounds like a potentially poritive thing then, fingers crossed for making things better. Take care all, be careful if it's hot, drink lots!

Hope your OH will be ok Taff, sounds as if he's really hurt himself.
Sorry to read that you've had sad news newroadahead, thoughts to you.
Good idea to get your MP involved Ruby, hope they can give you some help.8 -
Good afternoon 😊
It’s a late one, today. I am still in recovery mode after Sunday’s hike, but I have been busier than yesterday. The electrolytes are helping. I went to the Local Pantry this morning. They had a lot of vegetables to give away today, so I was pleased with that. I’ve done a couple of washes, and they are blowing on the line. It’s nice and sunny, here.
Dinner tonight is a slow cooker coconut beef curry for the meat eaters, and an enoki mushroom curry for myself. I picked up a pack of onion bhajis from the pantry, so they can go with the curry, along with some basmati rice. I also made up a tub of egg mayonnaise, which will do for a couple of lunches, and will save on food being bought as a quick fix while at work. I’m going to have leftovers for my lunch.
Now, I read a comment on an old thread about cutting open the sauce bottles to use the remnants. Why didn’t I think of that before? It’s surprising what you can’t squeeze out of the bottle. My family laughed at me, but I will be cutting them up in future 🤣
Hope your husband is okay, @-taff
Enjoy time with your family, @ScarletRibbons
I don’t really understand everything you’re dealing with @RedRuby1231, but I hope you have some success with your MP. Ours is as useful as a chocolate teapot.
Hope you all have a good day 😊9 -
Well, I'll say Good afternoon rather than Good morning since the Cloudflare nonsense is at it again - everything I clicked on asked for verification
. Lovely weather here, sunny with no rain in sight, highs of a comfortable 21 deg. Mind you, we will be under a hosepipe ban as from Friday that luckily doesn't really affect me as I don't have a car to wash, a garden to water or a paddling pool to fill! I'm on an assessed bill (can't have a water meter fitted) but I don't waste water anyway.
Just a normal day today with the usual household tasks that have already been done so I'm going to have a walk soon to the Little Free Library to return two books - one read and enjoyed, the other dry-as-dust one isn't engaging me at all. Tea tonight is spag bol and I'll have the last Solero ice cream lolly for afters. I need to do a freezer tidy too as I have a grocery delivery coming tomorrow. It wasn't really due until next week but I don't fancy having to face the shops later in the week if it's going to be as hot as promised, so delivery it is.
@Scarlet - Enjoy your time with your Australian family.
@camelot - Have a good trip to the Netherlands.
@Ruby - I hope you and your people are having a good time at Butlins. Sad Rob can't be with you. Good luck with the interviews.
@NRA - Sorry to hear you've had sad news. ((Hugs))
@-taff - I hope DH isn't too badly hurt but I would imagine he's going to be feeling a bit bruised and battered at the very least. Shame about the phone too.
Hugs to all who need them, I hope our sleepless ones manage to have a better night. Take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9
