Title Deeds
My mortgage with the Nationwide has now been completed / paid off but I received a letter from Nationwide stating that there records show there is a second charge registered on my property with Endeavour Personal Finance.
Nationwide are stating "If this charge has already been paid off or isn't applicable anymore, please send written confirmation of this from Endeavour Personal Finance"
It looks like Endeavour Personal Finance are no longer active and this loan was taken out over 20 years ago and was paid back many years ago but I have no paperwork, account numbers etc. and no way of contacting Endeavour Personal Finance.
Any help / advice would be much appreciated.

Hello.
Have you done a Goggle search as most companies like that may have belonged to a larger group/etc or taken over by another etc?
When did the closure occur - was it over ten years ago?
You will need to gather evidence that you paid off the personal loan, eg letters/copies/bank records/any any evidence you paid this off.
Work with Land registry, tell them re your plans and seek their guidance.
Consider legal advice
Just shows to check when you have paid off the loan and keep records safe until this has been done
If it was me, I'd first seek Land Reg advice what etc was required, then try getting the evidence and if you are stuck seek legal advice. (I'd also try and find out how far back bank records went but I i doubt if it more than 10 years but worth trying )0 -
To remove an unreleased charge, apply to the Land Registry using a CN1 form and proof of debt repayment. The Land Registry will contact the creditor, who has 15 days to respond. If they don't, the charge will automatically be removed.

They were taken over by HSBC but closed quite quickly in 2008 by HSBC. HSBC have not been helpful.
Loan was close approx. 20 years ago but I have absolutely no evidence.0 -

"Evidence" is the key.
