USS Deferred Retirement Delays

Dear All,

I would be grateful for your views and advice. I am taking early retirement and want to start taking benefits from my private pension scheme (USS). They stated that they would handle all the paperwork for that if given 8 weeks to process it. I submitted my paperwork 10 weeks in advance. They did not process it in time. They have told me they cannot say when it will be processed.

To whom to I complain about this behaviour. What redress is possible.?

USS have a complaints process. If you want to complain, you should follow it.

Where did they state that, I wonder? They usually say you should contact them 3-6 months before retirement. Plenty of voluntary severance going on at the moment, they are probably snowed under.
