Good morning, it's a fine start here.
Yesterday was grey and windy with a bit of rain.
I went to the cs yesterday with 3 carrier bags of stuff, but they said they weren't accepting any donations for a while because they were running out of room. We've taken a lot of stuff to this particular shop in the last few weeks, is it our fault I wonder!
I just took it to one of the other cs's
Ds is going to clear our loft in the next few months, Lord knows what will emerge from there.
Going out for tea with dd and family as a late celebration for her birthday and an early one for dh, it's his birthday on Saturday. We'll go to a new place on our High street, we can all walk there.
That's it for today - hope any holidaymakers are having a good time, also thoughts to the poorly, sad or worried.
Take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Enjoy your joint celebration tonight. A pleasant day forecast for us - not too hot and not very windy. But that blooming pesky wind is never far away these days.
I enjoyed my Skipton day as usual yesterday with a nice lunch, nice wine and lots of chatting. I was quite restrained with my spending other than a few necessary household items. And, despite my best intentions, two books that jumped into my hands. I don't need them as I still have a backlog to get through but couldn't resist them.
Today I suppose I had better put my mind to a bit of cleaning but nothing too taxing. And once again the freezer messer upper has been at it so yet another sort out is needed. It beats me how it gets into such turmoil when there is only me here!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. And I hope the Sandman visited the sleepless among us. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -

Morning allSunny and breezy out there this morning. My youngest DS was on an old TV series called Art Attack doing about a 10 seconds on a painting he did with other pupils at his school. I recorded it and my eldest DS accidentally taped over it. Was discussing this on another forum re being on TV and someone suggested looking on U tube for it and so I trawled through some episodes of the year I think it was recorded and I've just found it!! Can't wat to show them.Got to pop down to post a birthday card that DH forgot to post for me yesterday and a bit of housework and that's me for today. Numb bum in front of Wimbledon again I expect!Take care all x13

Morning All
Running very late to pick up DGD this morning - it was her dance show last night so a late one for all of us. I didn't sleep well so feeling a bit jaded this morning. The little one did very well, she's a little star!
Yesterday was quite quiet, DGD and I played games and had a play in the garden with DD's 30 year old flying fairy.
Enjoy your meal out Scarlet.
Glad you found the TV clip Chrisca.
Hugs to everyone in need, have a good day. Take care. XX12 -
Good morning 😊
Enjoy your celebratory meal tonight, @ScarletRibbons
We live on a main road, by a crossroads which has frequent car crashes, and at around two thirty this morning there was another one, which disturbed sleep due to flashing blue lights attending. We’re on a bus lane, and the bus couldn’t get through, so it sat there with its engine running until the road opened up again. I don’t know why they don’t put traffic lights at the junction. There are some a bit further along the main road, but the way cars speed up and down, it’s no wonder they collide with other cars coming out. Sadly, since we’ve been here, there have been four people who have lost their lives at different times - two pedestrians, one passenger, and one driver. Someone did try to campaign to change the site of the lights, but nothing came of it. Hopefully, no-one was badly injured this morning.
On to today. And a nice, easy day it is.
This morning, I’m going to pop in on my neighbour, then going to see my friend for a natter, and a catch up. I need to go to the shop for some eggs, toilet roll, and a tin of corned beef with peppers - apparently it’s nicer than regular corned beef so, since I’m up that way, I will get a couple in, and hide one for a later date.
I’m doing bolognese tonight, one with turkey mince, the other vegan. They’re both going in the slow cookers, along with some lentils to pad them out, so all I will need to do later is cook the spaghetti. There are no chores planned. I was shattered after doing yesterday’s lot, but the living room smells lovely and fresh, and I was glad I took the curtains down to wash. With the heat of the sun, it didn’t take long to get them dry and put back up again. Our living room windows span thirteen feet, so there were four curtains to wash, and they all had to go in one at a time as they’re quite thick. The washing machine was under protest.
Coffee calls.
Hope you all have a good day 😊11 -
Morning all
We got back home around 9 last night after a lovely relaxing week away, we swam loads in the sea which was a perfect temperature ate lots of delicious food and relaxed it was so lovely and much needed, it was very hot most days in the late 30’s but one day got up to 40+ 🥵
I have Rob coming today for his last day ☹️ I tried not to think about it too much on holiday but did email the team re my complaint, they replied that the deadline was Wednesday and they were waiting for a response from the sw team which they had not had which is not unusual apparently 🙄 they said they would chase it again and get back to me, so still we wait, he is due to go home Monday so I think it’s almost certain he will go, the sw has stopped replying to my emails at all now which is very unprofessional. We will have a day at home today as I am still tired and have lots to do.
Dinner tonight will be some pork belly with rice and peas I will need to go shopping at some point so might do that later on. Lots of washing to be done I will get the first load started after this.
Hope everyone has been ok ?Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Morning all, up with some larks today, they obviously didn't want me sleeping in..Tip run today, followed by tea at OHs mums house, I think she said she's making fish pie, but to be honest, anything she makes is fine by me because it's nice to not cook, it's nice to have something cooked for you and it's usually nice to eat too. There's been a disaster or two but that's real life isn't it. Do you find yourselves apologising for whatever you cook by pointing out the bad bits like, oh that could have done with a bit longe,r that's a bit tough, these are a bit burnt etc. I'm going to try to fit in a n allotment visit. I need to go far more often that I do but to be fair, it's been way too hot and there's no shade there.Izzy, glad they enjoyed themselves, it does show doesn't it rather than it being a chore. Scarlet, enjoy your tea! TA, I don't think it's possible to have too many books unless you have weak floorboards
Chris, how fab, there's probably nothing that can't be found these days...I'm going to test that theory in a bit..camelot, glad it went well for her
TTB no wonder you were knackered! definitely take it easy today! Ruby, welcome back, glad you had a good time, sounds lovely too. Well, we could all write to your MP if you wanted to portest about Robs treatment if you like? I'd be willing. Anyway, take care all, it's warm again today, shade is your friend....

Morning - thanks for the start @Scarlet. After two glorious days of sunshine and no rain it's back to grey skies and long-term rain. At least I managed to cut the grass the other day, now I can look out at the garden and not be annoyed for a short while.Yesterday I was, again, strangely busy for the morning at least. Grass cuttings and glass to the tip, a little shopping at a local shop for salad and a serious declutter of towels. Long gone are the days when I have constant visitors so the extra / unused are heading for somewhere. I don't think that CS will take them so they probably are heading for a textile bin. This morning I have a phone call to take, well, I hope so as I've requested it and then I'm taking my unwanted yoga blocks to the lucky person who asked for them on FB. More stuff going out, albeit slowly which makes me happy. No tennis here, I like to follow without watching. No other plans here, something may pop up though it may well be rewinding a couple of old films.I hope that everyone has a good day, grandchildren, gardening, cooking, reading, watching TV and so on. Incidentally, for the fans of JD Kirk he has another less visceral series with a female detective Heather Filson.Hugs to all.10

Morning all, thanks for the start @Scarlet. Yesterday morning's rain stopped earlier than forecast, followed by sun for the rest of the day. More sun today, no rain, moderate breeze and temperatures around 20 deg. Much more comfortable, especially for sleeping at night.
Nothing exciting planned for today - there's enough in the laundry basket for a wash load, a couple of phone calls to make, the kitchen floor to mop and the inside of the fridge to clean/tidy. I expect I'll find a few bits and bobs I can use for lunch. Tea tonight is chicken kyiv with carrots, peas and Jersey Gold potatoes (expensive but oh so tasty). Tonight's TV highlight will be episode 3 of Outrageous, the drama about the Mitford sisters, probably followed by a couple of repeats of Grantchester or maybe just an early night if the eyelids are telling me otherwise!
@Scarlet - Enjoy your celebratory tea, I hope the new establishment meets expectations!
@TA - Books are always hard to resist; I seem to have accumulated a lot (again) but at least now they're passed on once I've read them.
@Chrisca - Pleased you found the TV clip, I expect DS will be suitably embarrassed!
@Ruby - Glad to hear you had a relaxing week away; I hope Rob's last day with you goes as well as can be expected under the circumstances.
That's today's waffle so I'll leave you all with wishes for a good day. Take care. stay well. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
