Is anyone else having problems logging in to the app. today. It always worked perfectly before. I’m now in EU, but surely that’s not the reason.

Could try installing a VPN on your phone, see if that helps, TunnelBear offers a fair bit of free data to try and a connection to the UK.
Banks (and others) vary how they deal with access from "abroad", some don't care, some will ask for additional verification, some will block all access. Some banks actively promote using VPNs to enhance security (Barclays), others will see their use as a threat and block.2 -
