Morning again, it's fine here.
Yesterday was ok but cloudy for most of the time.
Dh was talking about going out today, possibly into Durham to walk by the riverside. He tires easily but there are plenty of seats, so we might do that if he still wants to.
Hope everyone is ok and has good days.
Take care folks.14 -

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, hope you manage your walk.
Yesterday started off showery and got worse as the day went on - really heavy rain for hours and hours although quite mild. I made lots and lots of jam - rhubarb & ginger and rhubarb and orange (for DGD) so spent most of the day in the kitchen. Also pulled some beetroot and cooked that, some has been pickled, just need to find someone who likes pickled beetroot now as I only like it fresh. I had some with my salad at lunchtime and it was really good.
Picked broadbeans from allotment 1, shelled those and put them in the freezer, allotment 2 has some kale ready and I had that with my dinner. I'm happy that my hard work is showing some results at last.
My bedding is in the WM, hopefully the weather will cheer up and it can go outside. Another load to do if it's dry but no hurry for that.
Hoping everyone is well and you have a good weekend. Take care. XX11 -
Good morning Scarlet, thanks for starting.
Another hot day on the cards, its 21degrees here already. Yesterday was cloudy but with a very welcome breeze.
DH returned from a walk with big dog yesterday bearing a bag of cherries. He'd found a cherry tree on their walk, so I spent time washing and stoning them then turned them into a compote to serve over ice cream. Very nice. Needless to say the quiche didn't get made, we had fish and chips from the freezer. Not sure what we're having tonight, but it'll be something with salad I'm sure.
Not much going on here, today will be spent trying to convince big dog he doesnt need to keep going out in this heat, dont want a repeat of last weeks sickness.
Have a good day all, stay safe in the sun.11 -
Morning all - and thanks to @Scarlet for starting us off. Enjoy the walk, the river is a beauty. You've been making lots of delicious things @Camelot. Mind, it was just the day for staying in the kitchen. I've got some fresh beetroot to deal with, I'm thinking of beetroot and mint dip. What a great find @remmie, a free feast! The weather yesterday was atrocious, pounding rain and driving wind for most of the afternoon and evening, and then rain all night too. I was watching parts of the Glastonbury festival which was in such wonderful sunshine and I couldn't see more than 10 yards because of the rain and low cloud. Happy for them, miserable for me.Last night I indulged myself with a very tasty takeaway from the lovely cafe which I sometimes have breakfast in. I had a lamb 'kebab' with their home made flat breads and accompaniments. They are closing in August as the owner is opening a new place, nearer here, but focussing on lunches and evening meals. The evening opening will be very welcome as there are very few places which do that. And it'll be a good competitor to the two or three which do. Anyway, the food was delicious though far too much so I have lots of soft falling apart lamb to eat up today, and maybe tomorrow! No plans for today yet. Something will occur to me I'm sure. I hope that everyone, including me, has a sunshiny day. Hugs to all.12

Morning all and thanks @Scarlet for today's start. Today's weather seems to be much the same as the last couple of days with a cloudy morning, sunny intervals in the afternoon, a moderate breeze and temperatures around the 24 deg mark. Sadly, the sunny intervals aren't very frequent or lasting long either!
DS will be arriving soon and we'll have brunch together while we put the world to rights. After that I think today will be a pick 'n mix of pottering and chilling. This afternoon I plan to make a batch of peanut butter bars and tea will be BBQ sausages, wedges and cream cheese & mushroom stuffed peppers.
A quick glance at this week's TV guide needs more attention on my part as the schedules seem to be dominated by sport of one kind or another (great if you're a sports fan which I'm not), celebrity versions of quiz shows etc (another no-no for me), Glastonbury and the usual endless repeats. I fear the remote will be working overtime up and down the channels!
Radiators are looking good, just need to clean the carpet (tomorrow/Monday?) and then the living room will finally be finished.Weather permitting, July's project is to get that patio sorted out - the weed killer has been doing its job nicely so there are no more excuses!
@camelot - I love rhubarb, your jam sounds wonderful.
@remmie - Clever DH on finding the "free" cherries.
@Gers - Enjoy your lamb leftovers.
Have a good day all, I'll keep my fingers crossed for better weather for those who aren't getting their fair share of sunshine. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Morning folks and thanks Scarlet. Enjoy your gentle walk along the river.
That blooming strong wind is still with us but at least its mostly been dry for my week here. Today Its packing and cleaning and tidying all my clutter as it's home time tomorrow morning. DS picking me up early doors and we are stopping off for some shopping on the way back. I'm glad I won't be here for the forthcoming heatwave as there is no escape from the heat in a caravan when it's hotter in than out!
I am coming back again Monday next week before the eye appointments resume the week after. They seem never-ending!
Have a good day folks and take care xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8 -

Afternoon all,a mixed day here, gusty with alternate clouds/blue sky/sun.Enjoy your lamb Gers.Hope you manage a nice stroll Scarlet.Oooh cherries Remmie. I rarely buy them as I'm the only one who likes them!Quiet start to the morning with no football for DGS but he played last night with another group. We had a picnic tea at DS2s before going there and managed to see DGD who arrived with her friend.Been for a walk this morning but by the time I'd talked to 2 different sets of people up the road ( and been to admire a garden ) time was getting on. DS1 was out when I got back, chippy visit. Our normal one has closed due to the sad passing of the owner. The new one was nearly double in price, DH nearly fell off his chair! We don't indulge much but I think it'll reduce more.I'm doing curry tonight, I already have some mains frozen so got them out. There is a classic car show tomorrow which we have been to before so that's an option.Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
