    hi
i am having same problem with overdraft as well. I have been with cccs since june 07 first payment was june 07. The overdraft charges have taken my husband over his overdraft and we are being charged about £200-£250 a month as well. I have rang cccs who said they would write again to lloyds. This was before xmas and we are still getting letters charging.
I have rang 3 different departments of lloyds to be just passed from one dept to another it is so annoying.
I feel exactly the same when you are trying to pay off debts and be responsible and this happens. I would suggest not paying anymore to the overdraft as others have said it can be seen to show you have more money to pay your plan by other creditors. I also have credit card with them and they have stopped the interest on this and on the loan, but have started to charge again on the overdrafts.
I am going to write to them a full letter explaining everything and see if that gets a response.
At the beginning of the dmp the most phone calls were from them as well even at work when my payment was only 3 days late!!! up to 9 times a day and messages left as well. These stopped after about 3 months.
I banked with them for over 20 years and it has really opened my eyes.

take care let us know how you get on and i will keep you posted as well.
    bye for now

  • Quiet interesting is that my OH has a debt with the TSB in the form of a credit card, now i know its all seperate, but the credit card department at the TSB has stopped all interest.

Yet they won't stop it on the overdraft....

Lloyds TSB bank and LLoyds TSB cardservices are 2 different sections so they may behave differently. The best thing you can hope for is a default notice (usually preceded by a few 'threatening' letters from their solicitors). At this point, all interest and charges will usually stop.

Current balance: approx £17500 including Tax Credit Overpayment

Estimated DFD: never - deficit budget. Cheers HMRC!

Another year over and we're still together. It's not always easy, but I'm here forever

    hi
    just update on overdraft situation.
I managed to find the correct department to speak with at collections department.
They have now agreed to freeze interest on our overdrafts. Due to going £20 over the overdraft they will still be charging fees of over £70 and have increased the overdraft to accomodate this, we did not realise this until we checked online banking after the phone call.
I am really not happy with this situation however it seems not much else we can do( i have spoke with cccs) about the charges as although it was the interest charges that took us overdrawn they can do this. I was advised you can close a bank account even though you owe money to them, might look into that, has anyone ever done this.?

Hopefully now no interest is going to be charged and the balance should reduce. I made sure i took names of people i spoke with as well.
    take care all
    bye for now.
