Loan payback now I'm unemployed

I took out a loan with updraft (£4k, £159 per month to pay back) because I was in full time work (£30,975 per year) and my partner was also in full time work (£28,000). I've now had major life changes with losing my job and my relationship has ended. I have recently started contacting all of my creditors including updraft and they have told me I can pay back £20 per month for three months. That's the maximum they can offer. I think it's highly unlikely I will be financially stable again by then and I've told them as much but they have reiterated the three months maximum support and now I'm worried.

It's a small non-priority debt. Defaults are nothing to worry about

As you have others, i suggest posting about the whole situation over on debt-free wannabe, where you should receive support and advice

That is nonsense. It is a very expensive lender trying to put you off, hoping you will pay them rather than someone else. There is no reason why they shouldnt accept £5 a month for years if you cannot afford to pay more.
But you may have better options than trying to negotiate with this sort of creditors, especially as you probably have other debts as well. So as @fatbelly says, lets see the full picture over on https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/categories/debt-free-wannabe  and you will get some ideas
