in Cutting tax
morning all i was provided a fuel card in 2024 and was allowed to use it for fuel for both business and personal mileage. the company pulled the plug on the cards in March 2025. for the calculation of tax, is it 40% I have to pay on the amount showing on the P11D, or do i have have to pay the amount on the P11D? Around 20-30% was business mileage, driving to sites or customers how do i declare this to HMRC company accountant just said its my responsibility and when i google its talks about company car benefits and fuel, i don't have a company its my own car i use.
thanks
thanks

The amount in the P11D is a taxable benefit charged at your marginal rate, so you will pay 40% of this.
But you can also claim tax relief for the business mileage at 45p for the first 10k miles and 25p for anything over.

If you already do self assessment then yes, if you dont otherwise do self assessment then no, see https://www.gov.uk/tax-relief-for-employees/vehicles-you-use-for-work0 -
i've have another question on my p11d it shows my private medical insurance , the company i worked for now take a monthly sum from the wage, and its been like this since 2023. im trying to get hold of the accounts team to ask is this correct, ie its on the p11d and its coming out of my wage, wont HMRC see take the amount on the p11d and will charge tax on it?

If its deducted from your gross pay then you'd have to pay BIK on it as no tax has been paid, if its taken from your net pay then no BIK is required as you've already paid tax. But here its not being minused at all1 -
