Good morning, thanks for starting us off Gers.
It looks dull outside, but no forecast rain at present. Pretty breezy too.
Today I'm off out shopping, a few bits to get, and I think I'll do my monthly stock up at the same time. I'm feeling pleased with myself as at the moment I've cut my shopping trips down to once a week, I used to pop out every couple of days. The trouble was it wasnt just for bread or milk, but another £20 or £30 spent. Our stocks are going down nicely and theres even room for ice cream in the freezer.
Dont know what's for tea, but I fancy burgers, nice and easy.
Enough waffling from me, off to shower and get ready, although may get big dog out first as it's getting darker outside.
Have a good day all. Take care.

Morning folks and thanks GERS.
Back to the rain this Morning though currently a respite. Then a re-run of yesterday when the sun came out after lunch. I enjoyed a lovely afternoon sitting outside reading and bird watching/listening. They were all in good voice and they too seemed happy to have the sun back. My app was working overtime!
Have a good day all whatever you are up to. Take care and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all, thanks Gers- seems quiet on here ! Raining...Nice lunch out yesterday with my cousins - 1 missing, but my closest was able to pick me up as her hospital appt. was finished earlier due to some results not being ready.I had eggs benedict. It was very busy by the time we got our meals, it has a pitched ceiling and it was hard to hear the conversation at times.Nice to see them all though. We had hunters chicken last night with some tinned spuds roasted in the air fryer, taste a lot better than straight out of the tin apparently, not that I had any.@Remmie, yes you could be right, I just have to be patient waiting for a new doggy friend.Food delivery coming shortly, the fridge is looking pretty bare ...Hope everyone has a good day.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning again - space for ice-cream is perfect @Remmie. Enjoy the sunshine when it comes @TA. Congratulations to @Coxy's clever DS and also to @Snoozer for her health result. It's still misty and grey outside, no actual rain though it's in the air. Yesterday I turned on the WM before I went up to the big shops and whilst the cleaner was here. When I arrived home I hung it all out and crossed my fingers. I held off bringing it in until early afternoon when I saw the rain coming slowly towards me from across the sea gave me the signal to move. It wasn't 100% dry but near as dammit so I was chuffed. Just as the rain arrived I had it all hung on the airer and bannister.Later in the afternoon the chap up the hill and his wife came down for us to taste test our respective elderflower cordials in a glass of gin. Hers was a lovely pale yellow colour and very mild in taste. Mine was definitely more aromatic and good on the palate.
She was happy to come second, this year! I only had a very small dribble of gin as I had promised to take another friend to the bus stop in town, but when I came back I had a more decent measure.
I've decided to not go to Glasgow today - various niggling things added up to a 'not a good idea' so I'm hoping for a dry day to get out and about. It's a shame but good overall.Meanwhile, I hope that everyone is doing OK, thoughts to @DP1's little one after her day off school. Hugs to all.11 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
I didn’t manage to get on yesterday. It was a WFH day plus DDad wanted to go to London to meet a friend, so DS2 dropped him at the station to find no trains and a bus replacement service. Could not inflict that on elderly DDad so they came back home. I’m absolutely exhausted having had DDad for the last 10 days plus working albeit part time, DS2 coming back from uni and a weekend of DH’s mates camping out. DDad trying the trains again today then at DSis’s until he goes home on Sunday. It’s been lovely having him but he is totally incapable of even making a cup of tea, so it gets very wearing.
Dinner tonight is an easy bolognaise bake, there’s washing in the machine and I’m going to tidy up in the garden today as it’s a NWD.Enjoy your time away @AlwaysAllie and @TravellingAbuela - hope the weather holds for you both x
Glad the tests came back fine @snoozer snd good that you’ve been looked after by the family x
Have a good day all

Morning everyone
Drizzly rain here this morning, but the sun is meant to come out later.
We had a lovely afternoon at the park yesterday - little one was really proud of herself as she managed to climb up this really high climbing frame. When she was smaller she used to look at it and say 'I don't think I'll ever be able to climb up there.'
We went for a very nice hot chocolate and then DD picked us up...I then had a nice hour or so sitting out in the sun and reading.
Work today at lunchtime...I have some ironing to do before I go, so I'd best get on.
Hope everyone has a good day

Morning all, thanks @Gers for starting today's thread. It's another day of showers in the morning and dry in the afternoon, light winds and comfortable temperatures in the low twenties.
After having had the shower repaired yesterday morning, my day just got better and better. I took my bag of donations to the CS and had a browse while I was there. The only thing I bought was a box of sewing thread - good thread, not the rubbish cheapy stuff that breaks and tangles. Ten reels of 1000m each, assorted colours, for £5.50. Having recently bought a single reel of just 100m for £2.50, I was delighted at the bargain price of 55p per reel, especially as the assistant kindly let me choose the colours I wanted from the boxes she had.
On the way home I had a phone call from the DWP about my Pension Credit claim after my MP had given them a prod about the long delay. Long story short, I should get a small amount of Savings Credit backdated to November last year. Not being at home at the time of the call, there were a couple of questions I couldn't answer off the top of my head so the chap I spoke to is calling me again today to finalise the process.
Another bit of good news came my way when I was paying off my credit card; I noticed the monthly DD for the TV licence (new one in my name after DH passed away) has now reverted back to the usual £14-odd pm instead of the higher amount they charge for the first 6 months when it's a new licence.
Today might not be quite as enjoyable as I'm going to put the second coat of paint on the radiators, one before lunch and one after. I think that will be enough to keep me out of mischief for the day. Carpet cleaning to follow at the weekend and that will be the living room finished - finally! Long job but worth the effort. Tea tonight is a pasta bake (already made, just to heat up) and strawberries for afters.
@Coxy - I'm not surprised you're exhausted and hope you can find a bit of "you" time soon.
I hope our travellers get to their destinations safely and that everyone has a good day. Hugs where needed, take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Morning all, quite dull and cooler, which is nice for me that is...I did a lot of leaking yesterday with the potting on, sorting stuff out etc, so todays shennanigans are an ikea visit to get some things for the bride that I said I'd help with. It's no hardship and OHs mum will be coming too because she likes a shopping trip too. We're out tonight to see a comedian so that's a small break. And after rescuing two field mice form the house and a butterfly from the greenhouse I gt stung on the toe by a bee. Unfortunately, it was on the good foot so there'll be some double hobbling today.snoozer, good news about your scan then, that's one worry off your mind. YorksLass, well done on youryS items and the plumber actually turning up. And on your day of Good Things Happening
TA, glad you're enjoying your time away. Rosy, someone I know went ot Ireland to fetch theirs from South Wales, maybe get your petrol rations ready
Gers, glad your cordial turned out lovely! Coxy, hope you get a rest today! Are you sure he's incapable or just pulling the incompetence card?
Take care all, enjoy the cooler weather if you have it.
