Default issues

Hello all
I’ve had a self managed DMP for a number of years and all of my debts have subsequently fallen off my credit report.
I had a payment agreement with Very (Shop Direct Finance) who agreed in Jan to backdate a default so it too would show on my credit score and subsequently drop right off, which it did, improving that score dramatically.
A month later I was advised by letter that they had sold my debt to Link Financial who then defaulted the already defaulted account.
After some back and forth, this default was removed on my file by them, but then I received new correspondence stating the account had in fact been sold to them incorrectly and was being passed back to Very.
This morning I had an email from a credit file company stating my score had decreased (now I don’t really care about this as I’m not interested in getting any debt etc) but it appears to have gone back to Very and they have defaulted.
Im sick of having to fight this. Is there anything else I can do?
I didn’t think you can default an account that had already been defaulted, let alone twice and one that has the dropped from a credit file.
Any advice would be really appreciated!

Yes it’s over 7 years old. They had originally marked my file as “agreement to pay” or whatever the term is. I then asked politely if they would agree to backdate a default from the start of my DMP, which they agreed to, so a default appeared on my file, then dropped off as it’s been over the 6 years.
there is approx £3k left to pay (which I do)0 -
Complain again, include what you had them agree to the first time around, they then have 8 weeks to sort it out.
If they don`t, then escalate the matter to the ICO who deal with data protection complaints.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
