Back again - it's a lovely morning here, but I think storms are forecast.
Yesterday was so hot! And I was so tired after a bad night I would have fallen asleep on the bus ride to my friend's if I hadn't met another ( chatty) friend in the bus queue who kept me awake!
Gers hope you enjoy your visit to the Lakes.
I don't know what's happening today, not much probably.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.

So glad I've been verified as human this morning
Another hot day looms and we are having a family bbq at DD's. I poached some salmon yesterday and made chocolate cookies but ended up buying a cheesecake as I ran out of time. The newlyweds will be coming so looking forward to chatting about the wedding and finding out what they're going to be doing. House hunting might possibly be on the cards.
Had a lovely meal out last night at a family run Italian restaurant. What I love about these sort of places is that they obviously cook from scratch so are willing to adjust things for you. DSiL asked for an Affogato, which wasn't on the menu, but they were quite happy to make her up one. I know it's not a difficult pudding but it's the helpfulness that was so nice.
Hope everyone has a good day and manages to cope with the heat.

Good morning 😊
Happy weekend.
We decided against a visit to the zoo, today. It’s been so hot, and wouldn’t be enjoyable being out in the midday sun. Instead, we plan to play board games, and have both meat and vegan chicken nuggets with spicy potato wedges / dip, then catch up on some Midsomer Murders. We don’t do wedges and nuggets often, but do enjoy them.
Tomorrow, we are planning a barbecue, so I’m awaiting an Iceland delivery between eight and ten. While I’m waiting for that to arrive, I’m going to start on my baked beans. I need to boil them before adding to the slow cooker with the passata and tomatoes.
Other than that, an easy day is planned.
Hope you all have a good day 😊

Good morning
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons
Didn't go on the walk this week, it was just too hot. Another hot day forecast but hopefully rain tonight. The garden certainly needs it.
TA and GERS enjoy your time away.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.8 -
Morning all from another "Human" and thanks @Scarlet for starting us off. Another hot day in store, it's already showing 22 deg in my living room and that's before the sun gets around to it! By mid afternoon it could be up to 29 deg but feeling more like 33, with heavy showers and thunder forecast in the evening. We're under a Yellow weather warning from mid afternoon today until the early hours of tomorrow morning.
I have no idea what I'm going to do today; there's a whole load of things I could do but there's nothing that can't wait so it could be a lazy day.Meals will definitely be of the picky/quick/easy variety and more than likely as and when I feel hungry. For tea I'm planning on a seafood platter with ice cream for afters.
Have a good day whatever you're doing or planning to do. Stay hydrated and remember the sunscreen if you're out and about. Take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Morning all from a humid and overcast Mehefinland.
No chance of seeing sunrise on the Solstice here!
Gave up trying to post yesterday as I was a septuplet by the time I got to the forum, and then it just would not let me post anything.( not that it was probably that interesting, but that's not the point).
Anyway, here now ( I think) with not much to say.
Sorted the water butt
Planted the plants ( well some of them)
Usual stuff with the horses.
Off to civic ceremony tomorrow dressed up like the dinner of a dog. Church will be cool at least!
Hugs and spoons as always
Mehefin aka Derek
Edit.... It worked today!!13 -

Morning all
Another lovely day I could get used to this 😃 WM is on with OH work clothes and I have another load to go in after they should all dry quickly today.
I heard nothing from the council last week but I’m trying to think this is a good thing as they must be investigating it thoroughly, fingers crossed that I’m right in my thinking 🤞
Im going to do some housework this morning and then get out in the garden for a few hours and have a tidy up, OH bought a new but not working garden vacuum from a selling site so he will be tinkering with that trying to get it going, I’m certain that he will I have never known him not be able to fix something which is extremely handy.
BBQ for dinner tonight I made some salad bits up yesterday so they will do for today as well, dd and her bestie are going for afternoon tea at the ivy with champagne, it was a wedding gift for the friend and her husband but he does not want to go so a win for DD.
Stay safe in the sunshine xx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
