Morning folks and thanks GERS. It was back to checking I was human again this morning. It's going to be even hotter today - 29 deg is promised. That's a bit too much for comfort, but I'm not complaining!
I have the hairdresser coming early doors this morning finally and I may have to ask for an estimate as my hair is totally beyond any sort of style! She was finally given the all clear to drive again this week. I can't believe how quickly it has grown whilst she has been incapacitated. I hope she isn't too scissor happy though!
Now eye appointments and other commitments are out of the way for a while I can finally have another trip over to the caravan so I am going Sunday for maybe a week, just in time for the showers coming back! It's not earning it's keep this year as neither me or DD and Co haven't been able to get there much so far.
It would have been my DB's birthday today so I rang SIL last night for a little chat - which lasted 2 hours! She is doing ok and still wading through all his motor bike stuff, tools and "antiques" which had accumulated in their garage and 2 big sheds! She has yet to start on all the other stuff stored in the house. He was a hoarder!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies, sad or lonely. DP1 I hope your DGD keeps ok now she is on the new feeding regime. Take care all, stay safe xx

Good morning, thanks Gers.
It's a nice morning here as well, sunny and warmish.
Visiting a house bound friend this morning with some shopping, I hope to be home by lunchtime though. She lives a 15 minute bus ride away.I
We visited dd yesterday to see some changes they'd made in their garden, and stayed for a bit.
Hope everyone is ok, and has a good day, take care folks.

Good morning
Another hot one again. Today we have a vets appointment, but haven't given big dog his meds as when I got them out last night I noticed they were a higher dose than last month, and of course it was too late to ring and check. We'll keep the appointment and see what happens.
Other than that nothing else planned, except keeping cool. That's not something we say often. No idea what's for tea we are just eating what we feel like at the moment.
Have a good day all. Take care.

Morning all. Hot and sunny already here and I have the first load of washing out on the line.
DH made good time on our drive back from York yesterday so we had a relaxing, if hot, evening. Our 3 bed self catering house was within 5 mins walking distance of York Minster and was excellent, although the kitchen was a bit small. Would happily recommend it to anyone wanting to stay there. We now have an annual ticket to the Minster, but it's unlikely we'll be up that way again soon
Today I'll be shopping and sorting out a pudding to take to tomorrow's bbq. Then on Sunday we'll be driving DSiL to Heathrow for her flight home.
Look after yourselves in this heat and stay cool!12 -
Morning again - not the day to linger in bed! Yesterday was a lovely day, today could be better with wall to wall sunshine already. I will brook no moaning about how hot it is, after months of rain, cold and wind.I did the quick shopping whizz yesterday, got the stuff I forgot about the other day and was back in under three hours. The draw of sunshine took me outside to my garden where I wandered around doing the odd vague attempt at being productive. That was harvesting the few strawberries not already claimed by the crawlies, pulling up baby brambles which appear regularly and marvelling at how the big floppy daisies take over the space. My beloved inula hookeri are just in bud so I checked on them.
I eyed up the black cap elder and decided to not pick the flowers until Monday, ditto cutting the grass. Then, after that I just sat in my chair, closed my eyes and listened to an hour of an audiobook.
This morning I have an express wash on which I'll hang out shortly. Later on today I'm off down to the North Lakes for a couple of days with my closest friend whose DFather died recently. Her OH is away cycling and the kids back at university. It's just the perfect weather for it.@TA - have a lovely time at your caravan whatever the weather. It's lovely to be away.I hope that everyone has a good sunshiny day - hugs to our poorlies.10 -

Good morning 😊
It was hot, last night. We slept with the windows open, but we live on a main road, so it was noisy at times. Then, we had the bins collected, which was a sign for me to get up.
This morning, I have cleaned the bathrooms, and decluttered the TV cabinet in the living room. I haven’t managed to keep up with one a day, mainly due to an unplanned trip to the Peak District last week, but also…(no valid excuse 🤣)
I am soaking some cannellini beans, and plan to make baked beans in the slow cooker tomorrow. We were thinking about a visit to the zoo, but it’s going to be too hot, I think. Home based activities will be more suitable.
Salad is on the menu tonight. I have some chicken breasts marinating for sticky chicken, and will cook those later. I also have some vegan salmon, and I will have those. Salad, and hot weather, go together.
I have recently started scrapbooking, and plan on adding some photos from our most recent hike, this afternoon.
Hope you all have a good day 😊

Morning all
Lovely sunny day here again and due to get up to around 30 deg later 😃 I shall get the dogs out this morning before it gets too hot.
I am going to have my nails done this morning and then having legs etc waxed this afternoon ready for our holiday, the waxing is painful 😬 but needs must.
im going to nip into M & S after the waxing to pick up a few salad bits for dinner we had something hot on the menu for tonight but I just can’t face cooking or eating something hot when it’s so nice out,
.
DD’s last day today for two weeks she works so hard so she is really looking forward to the break.
Washing to hang out after this and another load to go in and I will have a quick tidy / hoover before I go out.
Hugs to all in need of one xx
Gers enjoy your break xx
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Morning all and thanks @Gers for the start. Fine weather again today with a light breeze, up to 29 deg but feeling more like 31. I had my first cuppa outside early doors, so peaceful with no-one else around, no traffic and just the birds for company. Fast forward a couple of hours and the school run has started so it's bye bye to peace and quiet.
I sanded down one radiator yesterday and will do the other one this morning before it gets too hot, then there's the usual Friday admin to do - after that, who knows? The thought of sitting outside in the shade with a book and a long, cool drink sounds very appealing although the weeds (not yet succumbed to the weed killer) could be somewhat distracting - I'll have to do my best to ignore them! I've no plans to go anywhere this weekend but DS and his partner are off to London for the weekend for her godson's christening - I don't envy them the long drive there and back. Tea tonight will be a fishcake with ??? and fruit for afters. Difficult to know what to have when it's so hot.
@TA - Happy haircut today. Hopefully the rain won't spoil your week at the caravan although it does seem like sod's law!
@Gers - Have a lovely catch up with your friend this weekend, hope it's a good drive there and back.
Enjoy your day, take care in the heat. Hugs as usual. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8
