I love this site and on here daily but just wondering does anyone buy any comping magazines?
I have heard about compers news which costs £4.95 a month, does anyone subscribe to that? or any other comping/prize magazines?

Nowdays, there is no trace of PDW, and CC seems like it has gone online. So it it looks like the mag you referred to - "Compers News"- is the only magazine around. It's a shame, but the internet has overridden everything else. And that is also why it is so much harder to win anything now, as everyone & their Mother enter comps when it is as easy as filling in a few details online!1 -
@Joolski I started my competition journey doing postcard entries in the local to me newspapers back in the eighties when the price of a stamp was acceptable, how times have changed, I will always enjoy comping but I really think I am going to change tactic and stop trying to enter ever comp out there as like you say they are harder to win as everyone is just filling in a few details online, I think I will be more selective and also try some purchase necessary ones.2

I subscribe to Compers news magazine and highly recommend it.
Give it a try.
You also get access to Chatterbox and a digital copy of the magazine.1 -

Good luck with your comping.1 -
Well you've got to recognize that the whole activity of entering competitions has been steadily 'dumbed down' over the years. So much so that you could almost train a monkey to enter them nowadays. It started with the comping magazines that gave you all the answers but the massive change came with the advent of the internet. It not just 'Money Saving Expert' that lists all the current comps and answers online . There are many others that do the same.Combined with this there are many more people who are at home now for most of the day ( for whatever reason ) who can run down the lists on these comping websites entering dozens of comps at a time, one after another.Nowadays there is little physical effort required other than twiddling the mouse around and clicking on the right box.In the same way as there is no intelligence or any creative thought required as someone else has provided the answers. All that is required is one's time sitting at a computer - plus a high boredom threshold. And yet we still stay 'Well Done' when someone wins a prize?5 -
@The_3rd_Zebu spot on there, that's exactly what it is.
I must admit I started going down that road but was doing my head in, yes I like comping and will always do a few, but going to be a bit more selective, do few creative, or purchase necessary, not going to spend hours and hours sat using laptop, more to life, yes you can win some amazing things (well not me as yet), I do the postcode lottery so think I have more chance of winning on there, as had 5 small wins last year, they say whatever is meant to be for you will find you.1 -
