@Elisheba I thought of you this morning when I took the car out in the snow 😂 got up, and back down, or drive with no skidding or sliding, as you can see. Not massive drifts, but it was scraping the underside of the car.

I feel like I'm doing an all weather tyres sales pitch 😂 but this seemed as good an opportunity as any for showing you what I meant 😂6 -
That's brilliant, Cheery! I am very impressed. Definitely worth it I think!Cheery_Daff said:@Elisheba I thought of you this morning when I took the car out in the snow 😂 got up, and back down, or drive with no skidding or sliding, as you can see. Right, the bedding is changed and the fire is lit. Turns out I had enough kindling, and I think just about enough anthracite to last the day.
I'm showered and dressed, and will walk round to the post box to send back some letters for folk not living here, and drop some books off at the bus shelter library with silly dog in a bit. Then an evening in front of the fire with Miss Lillian Beckwith for me 😊Live the good life where you have been planted.

With regard to the broken vacuum head that is taped together.....have you looked on the Bay of E or any local FB selling pages. You often see people selling or even giving away for free, just the random parts of different vacs. Worth a look.

It is nice to have a cosy weekend at home when the weather is bad. I will think about the all weather tyres next time mine need changing. I have 4 wheel drive but it isn’t an SUV. I mostly avoid driving in icy conditions now that I am retired but it can be restrictive as our roads are never gritted.I enjoyed reading Lilian Beckwith and still have “A Rope in Case” although I am more likely to have a bit of baler twine about me somewhere! I long dreamed of having a croft in the Hebrides so I think that was part of the attraction of her books for me.3

Morning, my lovelies,
I've finished The Hills is Lonely now, and very much enjoyed it. There are 7 in the series but none of them currently seem to be in print, even the Kindle edition that I have isn't available anymore! So I'll keep my eyes open in the charity shops and second hand bookshops for them.
The money's are all fed and toileted. Once I'm finished having my tea in bed I'm have shower and get ready and have breakfast. Then it's chapel this morning, as long as the roads are fine. It's not far but it's a steep hill to get there so want some reassurances I won't slide back down it trying to get up 🤣.
Then I'll take silly dog a walk around the common, and home to do some housework. Cleaning the bathroom and hoovering the stairs and upstairs primarily. Put the recycling out for tomorrow. A poo sweep of the garden. Might make the curry for later on in the week today so the rest of the week is easy.
Then I need to chose a new book to start. Having so.manu options makes me very indecisive! Ideally it will be one of my paperbacks, so I can give it away when it is finished and that's one less thing to move!
Dinner tonight will be veggie sausages, eggs and mushrooms.
I thinks that's everything for today. I took some more books to the bus stop library yesterday, and have looked out a few more to take there as well. I think I'm pretty much there with books decluttering now - What's left I either definitely want to read, or are useful/interesting. Still got a big bookcase I need to do something with - probably take that to the bookshop library as well as the village indicated they might like it there a few months ago.
Once the roads are better I'll freecycle my single trundle bed and mattress and the extra mattress. Also 2 wingback armchairs that need recovering.
Then I'll tackle the garage and decide what I'm keeping there. I'm in 2 minds about my bike. It's a gorgeous racing green and cost a lot, although it needs a service before I can use it. I don't use it here as it's so hilly, and with silly dog I prefer to walk. It might be useful in the new place, although an e bike would be better. It would also take up a lot of room in the shed. Decisions, decisions!
Hope you are all having lovely relaxing weekends and staying warm 😊Live the good life where you have been planted.

Abe books or similar might be worth looking at for the books that are out of print. With Abe you can get a little cashback through TCB.I may be wrong but I think it may be possible to convert a pushbike into an e-bike?

You can get kits KK, but I think the fire risk is substantially higher - they are excluded from somewhere (I can’t remember where) for this reason. I don’t know why or whether it’s simply that there are a lot of dodgy conversion kits out there 🤷🏼♀️KajiKita said:Abe books or similar might be worth looking at for the books that are out of print. You might be able to part exchange your bike for an e-bike. Probably better to do that when you move then if there are any problems you’re closer to them.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013
