Morning allLovely blue sky out there this morning.Hairdresser coming this morning. When I booked it I said yes to a bit later because of half term and I now feel like a shaggy dog.Must contact new mobile network as I transferred over yesterday and can receive calls but can't make any.Taking DH to hospital later for his pre op appointment. They cancelled it the other week to today and then yesterday rang him asking if they could cancel again. Strangely enough he said no. He's had this catheter since end of February and, obviously, wants the op as soon as so he can be rid of it.Hope everyone has a good day x13

Good morning
A bright sunny start and set to stay that way for the foreseeable, .not that I'm complaining.
Thanks again for your kind words for my dgd. No more news from the school yet. As I've said before she attends a special needs school as a boarder. The school is 100 miles away from home, but was the best she was offered. The other one she was offered was in Liverpool (the family live in Berkshire). There was no chance of her going to a mainstream school in her area. DD hoped it would work for her but obviously it isnt so. Dgd is VI and they now think she may have ADHD, although that hasn't been diagnosed. She is doing online school work but is missing out on her Braille classes.
Last night we had a picky bits tea, then fruit jelly and ice cream, very retro. Not sure about tonight, although the freezer is still heaving.
TA, hope your eyes soon improve.
Ruby, hope you hear some positive news about Rob soon, and he gets some spending money, he needs an ice cream this weather.
Have a good day all. Take care.10 -
Morning all
Wall to wall sunshine already this morning, it’s going to be a warm one Rob coming today and we are off to the cafe which he loves - yesterday we had a lovely walk through the woods which was nice and shady the other two said they needed the toilet so we stopped at a local cafe to use the facilities and then felt obliged to buy something so the others bought themselves an ice cream so I had to get Rob one so he didn’t feel left out, I will put the expenses in with my mileage form but I am almost convinced that I won’t see another penny from the family 😡
DD working a late shift today so just OH and I here for dinner we are having salmon new potatoes and asparagus nice light dinner in the heat. I have put a wash on this morning and will hang it out before work.
A week today and dd and I will be off to Corfu I honestly can’t wait I am very much in need of a break, hopefully I will hear from the council before we go.
Remmie I keep thinking of your dgd I really hope something can be done to help her xx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -

Morning all - thanks for the start @Scarlet.Yesterday I was busy all morning with interviews which I really wasn't looking forward to, however, the anticipated 'problem' didn't rear up so relief all round. I'm still feeling ropey so it was a double ordeal. This morning there's no rain...perhaps it's good and will remain that way. The forecast is for a few fine days, about time. My gardener is coming, she'll doing the weeding and tidying up. Once the chap has been in a couple of weeks to remove the thug plants there'll be more to do.I spent a couple of hours researching making elderflower cordial and then ordering a muslin cloth and a funnel. Things I've never had any use for. My late DM had loads of muslin which eventually became too thin to keep when she died. I'll leave the making of it until after I come back from the weekendThe wife of the chap up the hill is coming over tomorrow with loads of tarragon, we plan to make syrup with it for adding to gin.
The tarragon plant she has is from a cutting I gave her from my DM's about eight years ago. My own cutting withered and died whilst she had coaxed hers into a full and healthy life.
Must away, breakfast calls. I hope that everyone has a good day, packing, gardening, shopping, whatever. Hugs to all and a gentle squeeze to @TA so that her eye heals well.11 -
Morning again - it's fine and going to be warm I think.
Hope your Dh's op does go ahead Chrisca.
Remmie, what a difficult situation your dgd is in, I do hope a solution is found before next term.
I feel so sorry for Rob, Ruby, you seem to be the only friend he's got, his family are beyond belief.
Had a great night at the the theatre last night, I now need to find out more about Alexander Hamilton. I'd taken a cardigan in case the aircon was extra fierce but didn't need it.
We took quite a bit of stuff to the cs yesterday, both from the caravan and home. The man in the shop was pleased with the caravan stuff, he said it would soon go. We took some towing mirrors that were new last year so someone will buy them I'm sure.
A day at home is on the cards, there's plenty to do here.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.

Morning all from mehefinland
Well apparently I am human - I never knew!! The latest MSE thing?
It may be sunny but its still pretty chilly here - think this 'heatwave' is more of a warm wave in my neck of the woodsAnother rotten night's sleep -something must be playing on my mind, but for the life of me I cannot put a finger on it. Oh well, probably doze off later.
More plants to find a home for too, so that may be a problem. Don't think I will grow quite so much next year, although if people don't turn up it is a difficult one. Doesn't help that nearly everything germinated ( except for one lot which struggles to produce 6 seedlings, and the blooming slugs got the lot!).
Ruby, I know it may have been suggested but could you get your local MP involved in Rob's case?
Hugs and spoons as always - lets get those poodles better asap. Enjoy the sunshine if you've got it. Commiserations if you haven't

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Blue sky and sun this morning, like the rest of the country, unless you are very unfortunate! It's so nice not to be bundled up in jumper and jeans!
All being well I am meeting DF for lunch. Postponed from yesterday as I wasn't sure how my eyes would be behaving when I took the shield off. As it is I am still zooming on comp, but the cheapo reading glasses I got are coming into their own when using the 'net on my phone!
The pots and tubs got a good soaking yesterday but it was so windy I suspect they were drying out as fast as I was watering them. Not much else got done as I had the excuse of following the instructions I was given of taking it easy for a few days!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need, with special ones for REMMIE and RUBY with their added worries. Take care all, stay safe xx

I've I had problems getting on here so it's a belated Good Morning from me. Like @mehefin, I was asked if I was a human before I could login. There may be days when I don't feel human, but I'm sure I am!!
Another warm and sunny day in store, dry and a light breeze.
Yesterday's jobs done - weed killer applied outside (planters still to be emptied), baking done (two apple pies and a coconut cake, with a bonus of two mincemeat puffs from the pastry trimmings), summer tops sorted with four going in the CS bag. They're in the wash now for a freshen up, I hope this good weather sticks around for a while so I can actually wear them!
Once I've hung up the summer tops to dry, I'm off to the Co-op before it gets too hot after which I'll be tackling the tops of the kitchen cupboards. They get cleaned fairly regularly, both on the inside and outside, but the tops do get neglected - I may as well do them before I put the stepladder away. Then I might sand down the living room radiators ready for painting; if not, it can be a Tomorrow job. Easy tea tonight of fish fingers, mushy peas and some sliced/fried cold potatoes.
@Chrisca - Fingers crossed all goes well for your DH at his pre-op appointment today. That's a long time to be stuck with a catheter.
@remmie - Poor girl, the special needs school situation is dire for so many children.
@Ruby - Bless, of course you bought Rob an ice cream, how could you not? I hope you do hear something (positive) from the council before your trip to Corfu but, if you don't, please don't let it spoil your break.
Enjoy the sunshine (if you have it) and don't forget the sunscreen. Hugs for those who need one, enjoy the day and best wishes for a good night to come for the sleep deprived. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Late one from me! I WFH today and managed to get loads done so definitely glad I requested it.
Hope the family come through with the money for Rob @RedRuby1231 but somehow I doubt it.
Glad DH will get his op tomorrow @Chrisca50 x
Have a good evening all
