in Cutting tax
I have two jobs. For the financial year ending 5/4/25, I used the tax calculator on this site and on HMRC website.
both results showed I paid too much tax.
the previous other 4tax years’ tax calculations on these two websites showed the tax that I paid was correct.
HMRC have not written to me about a tax refund.
should I just go ahead and send them a letter requesting a tax refund?

should I just go ahead and send them a letter requesting a tax refund?

How confident are you that you have actually paid too much tax?1 -

I’ve recently had a tax calculation letter (p800) that I’m owed (overpaid) £6,000 in 24/25 tax year.. I’ve waited nearly 8weeks for my cheque to be sent out.. I’ve called HMRC plenty of times and they get me through security checks and then put the phone down straight away! Do I just wait for the cheque?! It seems to me they do not want to pay out money they owe to us!With me being self employed and struggling at the moment it’s very stressful any help or advice would be great0
