@retiredbanker1 Hey there, thanks for the question! It will indeed be credit checked. @Emmia Yeah like I said I'm not expecting to be accepted but I thought I'd give it a shot as I will be paying a £2,000 deposit so maybe it'll give me a slight chance (although I don't expect the 2k deposit to really do anything due to my credit score)
@Grumpy_chap YI have dislike for them because I've been to about 5-6 different ones over the years and many of these like you said offered the hybrid option of private/NHS which I think is the problem in itself because they either get used to treating so many NHS patients that their "private" service also becomes like that or something I don't really know. The only thing I know is when I went to an ACTUAL private dentist the service and treatment was night and day. I remember even asking one receptionist what the difference between private and NHS is and why should I pay private if I can pay NHS? She basically had no answer apart from something about being seen if there is an issue.
A lot of people think I just have it in for the NHS dentists for no apparent reason but it's really not the case. So just to give you some idea I'll give you a few examples.
1. Had a small hole in my front tooth at age 19, got it filled (filling looked really bad and shoddy might I add) after about 7-8 months the filling had become loose, I go to another dentist as the one I had previously gave me zero communication what's going on as I had been to him before for a root canal on my upper molar anyway this new dentist then says I'm going to give you a veneer which broke off literally within a month. Then I went back to him and he did some patch work at which point my tooth didn't even look like a tooth anymore. He then said he's going to do a root canal which again looked horrible like my tooth did not look like a tooth was just some combination of materials. He had also created some makeshift bridge with my other front tooth and the one next to it causing both of them to have issues as obviously they have been merged and was not even able to clean them properly. I only found this part out with my current dentist.
He didn't communicate to me he's doing this to my teeth, so yeah I have more stories too but there's a reason I refuse to go to them.

my credit score is basically horrible like even the worst payday loan sites won't give me money just to give you a picture.
That suggests defaults recently or insolvency. If it is "just" defaults, have you looked at affordability complaints; winning any may get balances reduced or cleared and can sometimes help clean up the negative marks on your credit record. This wont help you immediately as they take time.1
