Child benefit about to stop - when to tell CM?

Options
Hi all - posting on behalf of a friend.

He makes CM payments on 1st of each month for 2 children. Child 1 starts full time work this week so child benefit will be notified. Do you have to wait for confirmation that child benefit has stopped before informing CM in order for them to recalculate the amount to be paid for the 1 remaining child or can he put in a change of circumstances on the day that Child 1 starts full time employment?

Thanks in advance

I don't know why you'd need to wait?

Apparently CM check if child benefit is still being claimed so if you apply for the change before child benefit has stopped then CM would reject the change of circumstance of removing child 1 from the claim

Child benefit may continue until 31August if the child has just left education.

Because they are going into full time work child benefit has to be notified straight away so child maintenance would then stop. Just wondering if CM can be notified on the same day as they check child benefit is still being claimed before recalculating for the remaining child on the CM claim.
