Options
I'm in menopause so have some gum recession and teeth not as white as they used to be. Looking for something to help with gums and enamel, not wanting try bleach or whitening strips. Lots saying oral b toothpaste but there's so many out there, and some say sensodyne pronamel? Any help please

I would advise you to speak to your dentist first of all. Sensodyne is generally viewed as the best to help with enamel erosion, but based on menopause it would be good to seek proper advise as you can also due to the increased loss of bone density that can create additional issues. My mum had a few issues at that age and the difference between her, who went to the dentist and dealt with things properly, and some of her friends who did not are a full mouth of functioning teeth, vs dentures.  Teeth are really expensive to fix if they go wrong so the cost of a dentist visit is going to be nothing compared to the cost of fixing them if you do not. Dentists can also prescribe toothpastes which can help with specific issues if needed, something which is not available on the shelf in a supermarket.

Like MattMattMatt I'd suggest you seek the advice of your dentist - they may recommend an off the shelf toothpaste, or a prescription toothpaste, using a soft brush, or other options - this advice will all be based on looking at your actual teeth.

There isn't a toothpaste that will fix the things you're mentioning in your post.

Tips & techniques from your dentist or hygienist can help stop/minimize further recession, although reversing it is difficult

There are dentist whitening processes available which can be quite effective, but they don't work on crowns or white filling, so if you have those in visible areas, you might not be suitable. Again, it's a conversation with your dentist that you need to have.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
