Live in Leeds, Greater Manchester or Sheffield? Had Council Tax Arrears in the Last 4-5 Years?
A research team led by Cardiff University and Cambridge University are conducting a study of people’s experiences of council tax arrears. Anyone who has had arrears in Leeds, Greater Manchester or Sheffield in the last four years may be eligible to participate, regardless of the nature of their experience.
We are looking for people to participate in short, anonymous, audio recorded interviews which last about half an hour. Questions focus on:
Your arrears story
How you manage arrears
The impact of arrears on your everyday life and the people around you
Your experience of bailiffs and enforcement officials
Your views on the council and possible changes to council tax
We won’t share your name or identifying details with the council or anyone else outside the research team.
To participate, you will be asked to read a document about the project and how your data will be used, and fill in a consent form to show you have understood it. This will be kept safely with our research team, and you will also have a copy for your records with our contact details on.
If you are interested in the project, or have any questions contact Dr. Alexander Baker:
