Can I freeze brandy butter?

This was bought from Tesco and has a date of tomorrow on it. I bought it for OH who wanted it to put on the Stollen that my Mum gave us (its been sliced and is in the freezer). Needless to say the Stollen and the brandy butter have been left untouched. I hate waste so is it possible to freeze this (even decanting it into an ice cube tray so its portioned)? Please help.

I'm sure it's fine to freeze ;) I freeze buttercream icing and that's not much different.

    Hi luv-my-job,

There's an earlier thread that says you can. I'm afraid I hate the stuff so can't tell you myself. This thread might give you some ideas for using it up:

Yes you can, just as you can freeze any flavour butter. Mix garlic and herbs with butter, and freeze it, then use as needed.

You can definately freeze brandy butter, in fact this year I used last years brandy butter after finding it in the back of my freezer. It was fine btw:D

  • Was just doing a clear out of the fridge for a home-made soup when I spotted a pot of brandy butter lurking at the back. Was tempted to just dip in with a spoon :o but thanks to the above hint will now freeze it! :T
