Morning folks. A gloomy start hereabouts but set to improve - or so they say.
A brief one from me as my eyes don't want to play today and the comp seems to be acting silly too. So not a good combination as I can't focus to sort it out.
A boring day ahead with the Friday Tidy in store. I didn't get a head start yesterday due to my shopping trip with DD. I managed a few bargains and a few essentials.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and sad. Thinking of RUBY and hoping the situation improves. Take care all stay safe xx

Morning TA, thanks for starting. I kept checking and was going to start but didn't want to duplicate.
Rain here but forecast to clear up this morning. Off to the diy with OH to return something he bought on Monday. Will go into Lids (which is around the corner) to pick up a free cake and bananas, and of course anything else that falls into the trolley.
Ruby, the situation with Rob has been on my mind a lot, it's so unfair. It truly hope it works out in his favour.
Have a good day everyone, and hugs to all who need them. Take care.11 -
Morning all. It was raining when I got up, and rather chilly, but the sun's shining a bit now.
Have already done a few pc admin tasks and some printing so need to go and pack for my weekend in Dorset in a while. DH and I will go out somewhere for lunch first then neither of us have to bother with a main meal later on. The weather forecast isn't good where I'm going and we have a procession to take part in tomorrow so will be packing my waterproof but hoping I don't need to wear it.
I hope everyone is ok? Thanks TA for starting us off this morning.

Good morning 😊
It’s a very tired start for me today. Little Women was really good, we enjoyed that, but didn’t get back until late, so my body is protesting. Thankfully, I don’t have much planned for today. I need to chop up some onions to freeze, as they are on the soft turn, and I don’t want to waste them.
In a bit, I’m going to make a start on both a beef mince, and puy green lentil bolognese for later. These will cook in the slow cookers. Then, I want to give our bedroom a good clean, and sort through the bedside drawers as part of my thirty day declutter. I need to strip the bed, but the rain is still lingering, so might leave it until after the weekend. I will see how energy levels are doing after the clean.
But first, another coffee!Hope you all have a good day 😊11 -
Morning allDry this morning but spitting with rain by the time I came back from shopping.House being done up at the end of our cul de sac and they must be burning something in the garden as the smoke was quite thick when I came up the road. The rain is dampening it down now thoughRuby I hope you're feeling a bit calmer today. Thinking of you.Nothing else going on today so I'll wish you all a good one x11

Morning all
Its raining off and on here so a soggy dog walk is on the cards.
Thank you all again for the good wishes re Rob, I won’t give up on this I can promise you that, the first stage is the complaint with the council then CQC then the ombudsman and finally his MP, I will keep going for as long as possible to get him a better life.
We are treating ourselves to a takeaway tonight it’s OH’s turn to pay 😃 so I suspect it will be an Indian as that’s his favourite, it will save me cooking.
I shall be looking for jobs again today I have seen a few I am interested in so I will have to update my CV.
Thanks again for all the support it really does mean a lot to me xx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning all and thanks @TA for the start. The weather here today is the usual contrary mixture of sunshine and showers until late afternoon when it should be dry until early morning Saturday. It's getting cooler too, 16 deg today and just 14 tomorrow.
@Ruby - I can't tell you how dismayed I am at what's happened. I wish you well with whatever course of action you decide on but fear you will be banging your head against the brick wall of officialdom. Anyone can see it's not in Rob's best interests to return home and I wonder if the care workers will show as much diligence as you have. The fact you have to look for another job too is just rubbing salt into the wound. I hope today will be a better day for you.
Well, it's flown around to Friday so that means it's admin day for me, with one extra bit added on. It's now 6 months since I applied for Pension Credit and I've heard nothing (other than confirmation of receipt) - my application must be floating around in the ether. As I've always said, if I get it that's great; if I don't I'll live with it. I just want to know one way or the other but it's impossible to get an update, either via their website or on the phone, so I'm going to email my MP. After that I may have to find something energetic to do to get rid of the frustration! Tea tonight is a piece of hake with a butter sauce, baby potatoes and veg - possibly green beans that are lurking in the freezer.
@WL - Enjoy your weekend in Dorset, I'll keep my fingers crossed the rain stays away.
Have a good day if you can and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Morning everyone just a quick one just got in from the food waste it poured down while we were unloading the van and of course we were thinking on the ground for volunteers today they all had an excuse not to be there but it’s brighter now I’m going to have a coffee and a sandwich then I’m up to the charity shop we did get given a couple of punnets of strawberries each the food bank takes anything we have left over but they won’t take fruit because if people don’t want it they have to bin it and they are reliant on volunteers to take the rubbish away for them and it can become smelly.ive got a couple of gammon steaks out of the freezer for tonight. Ruby it’s a good thing there’s people in the world like you . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing12

RUBY I really admire you for persevering. A lesser person would have given up at the first hurdle..I just hope some good comes out of it xx

Morning all, thanks TA. It's been raining really hard but there is a bit of blue sky appearing now. It was a fairly quiet day yesterday but we popped to see our friends on the way to get DGS. She's the one who doesn't really go out now apart from the food shopping, and hasn't been too well. She seemed really down so at least we cheered her up a bit. I showed her pics on my phone of our hols, they came with us to the same resort about 20 years ago, so that pleased her that it hadn't changed much.Just been to the retail park early on -DH dropped me off & picked me up via Next as he wanted a plain black T shirt. We restrained ourselves from going having a coffee so that's prob nearly £8 saved!Ruby, my thoughts are going out to you and Rob, I think it's a disgrace how you & he are being treated.Just had some soup for lunch & it looks to be brightening up.Take care all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
