SKY = Pay Once Watch Forever - Be Careful

Just to warn some people on this.
My Parents have recently bought the new Sky Pay Once Watch Forever deal from Curry's. They have cancelled the existing Sky package and have called the number to have the new service installed only to be told that they cannot have the service installed as they have got the oridinal Sky package installed at the property. Sky will not move on this, instead my parents had to contact a differetn department to have the original package re-enablede - at an added cost of course.!!
Do be Careful - my father explained his intentions to the sales person at Curry's who failed to inform him of this.
Thanks.

If in your dads name they should do the new one in your mum's.
These terms are advertised. Suggest you take up with Curry's0 -
Yes - I'm pretty sure it's for "new customers only", same as any new contract with Sky. If you've ever been their customer, you can't cancel and take out a new deal (including the watch forever).
BUT they are normally keen to get old customers back - they should waive any connection charges for your parents. Just tell them you'll go to Virgin Media instead :-)
I thought they were pretty up-front about this fact..? If you can't put it in someone else's name (because the address will be the same), can you take it back for a refund?Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
Its because you dont qualify for the discounted equipment supplied
If you'd bothered to read what you were signing upto problem avoided0 -
When you buy the package, you don't sign for anything. It is a box that looks like a hardback book that you buy off the shelf. There is a sticker keeping the box closed saying "Void if Removed" so at the time of purchase you can not read what is inside until after you buy the package.
There is a disclaimer in very small writing on the back of the box saying the offer is not open to 'customers who have previously taken up Sky's free dish and box offer'. The writing is pale blue on dark blue and is so small that I could only read it with great difficulty.0
