12year old debt, resolve call

Hi yesterday i had somebody doorstep me from resolve call, for a debt from 2012,  ive had no contact with anybody reguardng debt, sp letters, calls until yesterday, its an old shop direct debt, ive never recieved a ccj  as it never cam eup on credit report
Last payment made towards debt wouldve been early 2013 jan/feb

Are they allowed to show up at my home, shluld i just ignore them

Yes they can knock at your door just as salespeople charities etc. can.

But you just ignore them and they will go away.

This debt should be statute barred if you last paid in 2013 as lo g as you've not acknowledged in writing in the last 6 years. A number of debt firms have bought a lot of antique debt and are trying their luck at the moment.

At some point whoever owns this debt may write to you, if they do, respond with the statute barred letter.

Anyone is allowed to do anything as long as its legal, Resolvecall are just a 3rd party collection company engaged to make contact with you, should they call again, tell them you won`t deal with them at the door and to leave immediately, no point going into detail with them.

Its important to realise they have zero power to do anything, and you don`t have to speak to them.

One other thing you can do, although its a pet hate of mine to see a plethora of mobile phone cameras pointed at something, however, filming these Resolvecall people, and making a point of doing so, also hastens their retreat.
