in Cutting tax
I understand I can include Gift Aid from donations to charity shops on my SA. If the letter says eg 'we've been able to reclaim a total of £44.60', is £44.60 the amount that I put in the Gift Aid payments box? Thanks (and apologies if this is a stupid question).

If they reclaimed £44.60, that is the tax. The letter should say:
"I am pleased to tell you that the proceeds from selling your goods have raised £178.40 (net of commission and VAT). To donate this sum to us you need do nothing further. This will allow us to reclaim an additional £44.60 in Gift Aid in the tax year to 05 Apr 2025."
The figure of £178.40 is what you enter as the net payment under Gift aid.1 -
Thank you very much!1
