I think it's better to eat normal foods that offer this type of thing, or which feed your gut bacteria rather than ingesting special drinks or pills.
Natural yoghurt, kimchi...1 -
No point because your body decides it's own biome and anything you take that it doesn't like will die and anything it does like you almost certainly already have. Better to eat prebiotics and help your natural population0

Aldi stock Kefir yoghurt @ £1.09 a tub- contains 13 live cultures
I make kefir too but the yoghurt is very creamy & nowhere near as tart. The kefir is chiefly for the dog! and I have been making it for more than 5 years: very easy
other fermented foods are kimchi & kombucha as well as sour dough bread.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I make Kombucha quite a lot of the time. Easy process for me as I prefer it just as it comes after first fermentation, not carbonated with a second. I eat yogurt too, but don't care for kefir or kimchi.

I make kefir , yoghurt, Kombucha and sauerkraut . I've also read that doing gardening helps the microbiome even if you don't eat what you grow (although why wouldn't you at least have a few salad leaves or herbs) . Another tip is to leave a glass of water uncovered overnight on your bedside table or wherever and then drink it first thing in morning, a bit gross but effective
