Good morning Gers, thanks for starting.
No fog here, it's bright and sunny, but there's a strong cold wind.
I planted some seeds yesterday, also planted up a few containers. I think I'll do a hanging basket this year, I haven't done one for a few years because we were away a lot in the summer but dh is not up to it this year.
Dgd is staying till tomorrow. The rest of the family are at their cottage in Weardale for the week, they usually are in school holidays.
I think I'll go to Dob*ies for a few more plants today, or there's a possibility of dgd and I going to a nearby shopping centre (if she gets herself organised in time!)
Hope everyone's ok and has good days.
Take care folks13 -
Morning folks. Thanks GERS. Hope you enjoyed the show. No fog here, we have blue sky emerging and evidence of rain through the night. We seem to be lucky by avoiding daytime rain but getting it through the night. The best time for it to fall.
It's my baby boy's 50th birthday today. Where have the years gone! They got back from their breakaway last night and said it had gone by too fast. They were lucky with the weather too as it only fell when they were in bed. I don't know what plans he has for today but it won't be anything too riotous. He prefers a nice meal out instead of a noisy party.
No plans for today just general pottering I suppose. There are always jobs waiting in the wings aren't there! At least watering all the pots won't be one of them! Sadly when it starts raining here it never knows when to stop does it! Have a good day folks if you can and gentle ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care xx

Happy 50th birthdays to @TA's son and @Scarlet's daughter. 🎂🎂
The fog is lifting to become low white cloud. The forecast is for heavy rain this morning.Nick Mohammed was brilliant last night. So funny and very clever with it. Mr Swallow could well slip into being annoying but he stops short and keeps the anecdotes coming. I'm glad I made the effort. Mind you, I missed a step, tripped over it to end up on the ground. 😱 Very quickly a security bloke came behind me, wrapped his arms round my waist and hoisted me up. 😂 I'm totally unharmed and totally embarrassed but he was lovely. I made a point of seeking him out afterwards to thank him again. This morning I'm taking the earlier bus home and decided to skip breakfast. I don't normally have it and will be home in time for lunch anyway. Now, I'm off for a shower. I hope that everyone is doing well and and able to enjoy the day. Hugs to all.13 -
Good morning
Blue skies here also, but rain forecast for later. Yesterday the wind was very gusty and quite chilly.
OH was gifted a large bunch of mint yesterday, so today's job is to make his favourite mint sauce. I dont mind bought mint sauce but he only likes fresh, so will make it and freeze in ice cube trays.
Tonight I'm thinking of making a beef stew. I have been fancing one for ages but the weather was too warm. Of course with dumplings.
Happy 50th to TAs and Scarlets babies, my baby reminds me she will be 50 in 18 months time. On the countdown!
Have a good bank holiday Monday whatever you're doing. Take care.10 -
Morning all, thanks for the start @Gers. Glad you enjoyed the show and pleased you weren't hurt after your tumble. Yesterday's daytime rain was nothing more than a few spits and spots and it turned out sunny but very windy, followed by overnight rain. Today looks as if it could be a rinse and repeat but less breezy with top temps of 15 deg and lows of 10 deg.
First job today is a towels wash; while that's doing I'll make a tub of potato, pea & mint salad and there's a sad looking banana to deal with too that will most likely end up as a banana loaf. As for the rest of the day, who knows? Gentle pottering sounds appealing.
@remmie - My late DM always made her own mint sauce with home grown mint from the back garden - a fond memory from childhood.
@TA - Happy birthday to your DS. And advance birthday greetings for Saturday to @Scarlet's DD.
Enjoy your BH Monday and try to dodge the rain if you're out and about. Healing hugs for anyone feeling under the weather, take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Glad you enjoyed the show and sorry to hear of your tumble, hope you’re okay x
Happy Birthday to @TravellingAbuela’s DS and advance HB wishes to @ScarletRibbons DD x
We are off to a classic car show/craft fayre/car boot sale today. Weather looks okay if a bit breezy.Descaled the kettle this morning (now a weekly event due to chalky conditions here) and DD has put on a wash load that will be hung outside. I have ironing to do later so will find some wallpaper TV to watch!
Have a good day all

Morning all, we're back from holiday having had a lovely time. The weather could have been a bit better, a couple of cloudy/rainy afternoons, one on the last day when we had to be out of our hotel room at 11.We couldn't lie round the pool or beach as we normally would so wandered round a few shops, had a long lunch and then went back to the hotel comfy seats to wait to be picked up for the airport. The hotel was good though, & met some nice people.Arrived back home at 3am Sat. morning, then out at 9 for DGS cup semi final. They won so it was worth it!I want to do some food prep for myself today, I put a few pounds on after the hol
, so need to get back into my low carb lifestyle!
Lots of ironing to do & stuff to put away!Happy upcoming 50th birthdays, for TAs son and Scarlets DD.I wasnt able to keep up to date on my phone on holiday so hope all are well.Happy Bank Holiday !:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all
Sunny here but still very windy its a good day for drying the washing I have a load in the basket ready to go out and another just finishing.
Dinner tonight will be a leg of lamb which I got a while ago on half price offer I will cook it in the sc studded with garlic and some redcurrant jelly on top, I will do enough for tomorrow as well, I will see if mum wants a dinner but she has had a bug for a few days so might not be up for it.
Dogs to be walked later and a quick tidy through ready for the working week.
OH made me a bird table yesterday it’s simply lovely and attracts so many more birds into the garden, we have an old water butt which we are going to get rid of, I shall put it on the free page on FB, then it can go where the water butt was, we never use it so it’s time for it to go.
TA and Scarlett Happy Birthday to your babies xxx
Rosy glad you had a good time, we go in about 30 days and can’t wait.
Have good days all and take care xx
