State pension hrp

Is my mum entitled to hrp , she has basic pension at 172 and pre 97 top up of 74 and post 97 of 14 also has cod deduction of around 9 pound, her total is 255. She never worked from 1971 to 1991 and claimed child benefit for them years,  she only managed part time small jobs since 1991. Her husband died in 2001 after 30 years together,  I think some of his state pension went over to hers. Just wondering is it worth applying for that hrp thing🤔

She needs to check her contributions on the HMRC website to see whether she has already been credited for the years she claimed child benefit.

Devongardener unable to check online as she needs  a hmrc online account which i tried to set up but couldn't confirm her identity etc as she has no driving licence or passport, I thought you could go online and just do a quick check but always prompts you to sign in.

Getting a provisional driving license (£34) or a passport (£94.50) may be an idea then. After all, how else she can prove that she is who she is.

The current full rate for the old Basic State Pension is £176.45 so your mum's £172 is pretty close to it. I would guess that she has received most (and probably all) of the credit for her Child Benefit years.
As above, you'll only be able to tell for sure by looking at her NI record.

HRP was only introduced in 1978

Many people were awarded it automatically.

My original notification of State Pension stated it included HRP.
