Notice of Termination

Received a letter through the post which does not look like the usual letter coming from either HSBC or Amex. It does not even have a return address or it doesn't say which company it is from.

It sounds more intimidating that the usual ones where they say "may" a lot.

This one says:

This Notice of Termination is served on you as you are in breach of the terms of your Fixed Sum Loan Agreement under section 3.

Take notice that in accordance with the rights vested in us under the terms of the above agreement, we give you formal notice that the agreement is terminated.

We need to let you know that if we took legal action against you and a court decided you must pay us the money owed under the agreement, you may end up paying more than just the money owed under the agreement. This is because you will have to pay the amount owed under the agreement plus interest from the date of the court decision, until the total amount is paid off in full.

If you are not sure what to do, you should get help as soon as possible. The Government's Debt Counselling Service provided by the Office of Fair Trading can helpyou with free debt advice and support.

Yours sincerely,

    Standard notice.

A bit useless if they don't identify which account it is, though

Sorry I forgot to say that they did include

    Agreement reference ______
    Amount ______
    Arrears ______

That is all. But they did not include the company name at all.

    Conister Bank.

I have a credit card with Amex. I received a default notice via post a couple months ago then they handed it over to AIC Corp, but I keep checking my credit report and the default hasn't been registered yet. So still waiting before I start making payments.
