Child maintenance

My daughter has turned 18. She's working as a trainee hairdresser doing a yts though her job. Me and her mom have an arrangement for child maintenance for her and her sister. Now she's 18 does the maintenance payment for her stop?  So I only pay for her younger sister's half?

    Are you in the UK?

Is the course one that leads to an accredited qualification?

Do you think that not helping support your daughter would be the right thing to do because she has turned eighteen? It is likely that she is going to need support for a while longer, it might be worth having a conversation with your ex-partner and your daughter about the level of support she might need for the next few years.

Child maintenance usually stops when child benefit stops.

However, there is no reason why you could not give support to your daughter direct for her to use.
