Sal Sac - employer NI contributions query

When my employer brought in the new workplace pension scheme paid through salary sacrifice, they decided to give us all of the employers NI saving as an additional contribution, but I understand there is nothing obliging them to do so. They also contribute more % than the statutary minimum. Nice employer, shame it is now run by tosspots.

Ditto. I only heard of this after reading it on here once. After 30+ years it is probably not worth me asking now. 
Decent regular contribution though.

We did used to pride ourselves in being in the upper quartile of employers (for salary and benefit benchmarking) but now we are equally as proud of getting that down to 'average'. The business don't want dinosaurs any more. Too expensive and cynical!
