    There are no "secret solutions" to this unfortunately, if the loan is unaffordable, you only have two realistic choices.

    (1) You can try and come to an accommodation with your lender, as advised, and see if they will accept lower payments on a permanent basis.
    or,
    (2) Default on payments, the debt will go to a debt collector or be sold, and you can then pay what is affordable to you, unfortunately the way the system works, you usually have to default on payments first in order to get any help whatsoever.

    But talk to the lender first and see what they say, most may only accept a temporary arrangement though.
