Hi all
Due to burnout and anxiety i have been off work now over 6 months. The job is hard physically and im not sure i will last long if and when i go back, even with a gradual return.
What id like to know is what sort of help i can get to retrain if i lost my income? A brief check on entitled to says i could get just over 100 a week u.c. which wouldnt go far.
Is there any other help available?
I own my own small house and car is worth 2k and i have very little in savings.
Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks
Olly

What do you do now, and what would you want to retrain for?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

UC for a single person over 25 is £400.14 a month and unless you can show a limited capacity for work would come with strict conditions regarding spending 35 hours looking for a job.
Could you return to your old job on reduced hours, is there scope to change your role within your current employment.
Could you look for a new paid role now rather than just leaving your current position.
Have you considered an apprenticeship - some are paid at minimum wage and it could facilitate the career change your looking for?1 -
Yes my whole return should be phased and id like less days and hours so that could be ok.
It does appear the 400 a month is barely liveable.
Although i think that being unemployed does help with taking courses for free?

I think the OP is a wind-up merchant. He has other threads suggesting he is about to take out 2 huge loans, buying a new car, hiding his savings to keep them under 6000 and another one where he says he plans to buy £600 worth of shares a month.5
