    Asset Collections & Investigations (ACI)
    [Company Address from their letter]

Re: Alleged Debt – Reference Number [Insert Reference Number]

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing in response to your recent correspondence regarding the above-referenced alleged debt.

I do not acknowledge any liability for the debt in question. I believe this matter is statute-barred under Section 5 of the Limitation Act 1980, as more than six years have passed since any payment was made or written acknowledgment of the debt was provided by me.

As such, the debt is no longer legally enforceable through the courts, and I am under no obligation to make any payment. If you believe otherwise, I request that you provide clear evidence of any payment or written acknowledgment made within the relevant limitation period.

Please also be advised that I do not consent to any home visits. Any such visit by your representatives or agents will be considered harassment, and I will report it to the relevant authorities.

Additionally, I request that you cease processing my personal data in any way that may affect my credit file, in accordance with your obligations under the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Financial Conduct Authority’s guidelines.

I also advise you to notify any third parties involved in this matter, including Intrum Justitia and Capquest, of the statute-barred status of this alleged debt. I reserve the right to report this matter to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).

Please confirm in writing that you will no longer pursue this matter and that my personal data will not be used in any way that could adversely affect me.

    Yours faithfully,
    [Your Full Name]

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing in response to your recent correspondence regarding the above-referenced alleged debt.

I do not acknowledge any liability for the debt in question. I believe it is statute-barred under Section 5 of the Limitation Act 1980, as more than six years have passed since any payment or written acknowledgment was made by me.

Accordingly, the debt is no longer enforceable through the courts, and I am under no legal obligation to pay. If you disagree, please provide clear evidence of a payment or written acknowledgment made within the relevant limitation period.

Furthermore, under Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970 and the Financial Conduct Authority’s Consumer Credit Sourcebook (CONC), I am now formally requesting that you cease all further contact with me regarding this matter. This includes phone calls, emails, letters, or visits. The only exception I will accept is written confirmation that you are closing your file and will not pursue the alleged debt further.

    Please also be advised:

    • do not consent to any home visits. Any such attempt will be viewed as harassment and reported accordingly.

    • You must not process or share my personal data in any way that may affect my credit file, in line with your obligations under the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR.

If you continue to contact me in relation to this matter, I will consider it harassment and report your company to the Financial Ombudsman ServiceFinancial Conduct Authority, and Information Commissioner’s Office.

Please confirm in writing that no further action will be taken and that you will comply with this request.

    Yours faithfully,
