Morning everyone - thanks for starting us off @mehefin. My late DM always swore that the full moon affected her sleep patterns, so much that she bought a moon calendar every year and recorded her bad sleep nights. After hanging out a small wash yesterday I decided on a wee trip to the end of a spike of land a bit up from me. It's were I go for Monday classes though I've never ventured right along to the end of it. The views were fabulous right along the loch and eventually to a different view of the Paps of Jura. I gave up after the road got narrower and passing places fewer though I found a beautiful ruined church and it's graveyard. Whilst I didn't venture into it the front gravestone was all sparkly gold lettering from 2015. One day I'll go in it, love old graveyards. On the way back I stopped at the cafe to pick up a takeaway coffee and, later, put cardboard and packing materials in the dumpster. I really really intended to cut the grass in the afternoon, honestly, but the time just flew away from me even I can't account for it!@Izzy - I like how you are getting assertive with your OH. It's so easy to let one's own views get lost. @TA - good to hear that you're recovering well. New and altered vision will take time to adjust to.No idea what my plans are yet, but one thing is sure, I will not be watching Eurovision. I've never liked it and it goes on for blooming ever. I hope that everyone has good day, with or without sunshine. Hugs to all.10

Good morning, thanks for starting us Mehefin sorry you're not sleeping well.
A dull start today, yesterday was wall to wall sunshine but with quite a breeze, dried the washing off in no time.
No real plans for today, although i think theres a footie match later. Dont know what's for tea, I must get my cooking mojo back, I just cant be bothered. Last night was fish finger sarnies, I'm not sure OH was impressed, hes a meat and two veg man. Theres plenty in the freezer, so will have a look and pick the easiest, something just to throw in the oven.
Enough waffling, have a good day, and hugs to all who need them. Take care.
Oh, and if you're a Eurovision fan, enjoy.10 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Mehefin, hope you get some sleep tonight.
Wall to wall sunshine again, bedding on the line and the windows are all open to get some fresh air in before it gets too hot. Yesterday was a scorcher - 26 degrees when I left work at 3.30!
I have a cheque to pay in at the post office (I think, haven't done it before), shopping to do and allotments to visit. I did water the allotments on my way home yesterday but have some climbing beans to plant in the ground.
Hugs to those in need, have a good weekend and take care. XX7 -
Morning everyone it’s very dull here and chilly we might have the fire lit later . I need to pop to Lidl in a bit I don’t need a lot as I want an empty fridge when I go away on Thursday so I’m going to work out meals for the rest of the week . GERS you have hit the nail on the head I’m very easygoing and I will do anything to make anyone else’s life run smoothly but it’s time to say no the family aren’t as bothered if I say no but it was always but you can do it on the way to work or you are there anyway or you are not doing anything else since I retired hubby has had a had to get used to me saying no and as you know we had the big talk a few weeks ago and I know he still thinks she will calm down and it will be back to normal he said yesterday you have my prescription to pick up today when I said I couldn’t I was out all day and he would have to walk to the chemist at the other end of the street by the way that he has never been in he said but you will be passing it yes but I’m not doing it because I’m having a sandwich and a cuppa instead of doing without and going early and by the way you can pick mine up as well I thought he was going to faint but amazingly he managed when I came in they were sat in the middle of the table like the Crown Jewels I felt like patting him on the head and telling him what a good boy he was I now have to break it to him he is now coming shopping with me because it’s to heavy to carry myself and he will be eating it sound like a revolution doesn’t it the new word in here is no . Mehefin I hope you get your sleep sorted soon it effects the rest of the day when your tired TA I hope things are getting a bit easier for you . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Morning all
Dry and bright here and should get warmer later it’s a bit chilly this morning. I have a wash on the go so will hang it out once it’s finished.
OH and I are off to collect his dads new car this morning it’s about an hours drive each way so too far for FIL to drive it’s a much more modern car than he is used to it has keyless entry etc so I can see a lot of phone calls from him 😂
Bbq for dinner later I have some minty lamb chops and some pork belly strips which will do us for two days I will do some new potatoes and a corn 🌽 on the cob for each of us. DD is working an early so will be home for dinner.
Rosy hope you have a great holiday xxx
Mehefin not being able to sleep is awful I feel your pain xx
Camelot do you have internet banking ? I can pay cheques in via my phone it’s very handy xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
@Gers you'll have to start a new thread just for photos. Your descriptions sound wonderful!I haven't watched Eurovision since Bucks Fizz won it I think. The amount of countries in it now is mad. Australia for instance! It's been on the tv all week too! And breathe :-)10

Morning all, thanks for starting us off @mehefin - sorry for your lack of sleep. Today's weather report: cloudy with sunny intervals expected later in the day, no rain, light breeze, temperatures up to 19 deg.
I did the weekly admin yesterday and I've renewed my energy fixed price plan with my existing supplier to start in June. The monthly DD is roughly the same as this year's although I'll be paying £20 pm less until January due to the credit balance on the account. I also reviewed food stocks and, whilst I haven't done a firm meal plan for the rest of the month, I have come up with a list of possible meals I could make. I made a start by doing a batch cook of corned beef hash, one portion for tomorrow and two for the freezer. The CS donation bag has benefited by the addition of several paint brushes (all unused) - how on earth did we come to have so many?
DS will be arriving soon so we'll be back on the decorating - the end is creeping closer! In the meantime I'll get out the clean curtains that will more than likely need ironing again. It doesn't seem to matter how carefully I fold them, they're always creased. No idea what TV I'll be indulging in tonight but, like @Gers, it won't be Eurovision. Or sport. Or any reality stuff or game shows, especially the celebrity versions. Ghost hunting, fantasy and sci-fi don't float my boat either. If I'm lucky I might find a drama or film that hasn't been on before!
Oh well, time to get on with the day. Take care all, hugs for those who need them with a visit from the Sandman for the sleepless. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Morning all.
It's dull and a bit chilly here but I'm sure it will warm up later.
Looking after the DGSs went surprisingly well yesterday afternoon but we both overslept a bit this morning so it must have taken it out of us!
We need to have an early lunch as I'm playing for my Morris side at a church fete about 30 mins from us at 1.30pm but there's only roadside parking so will have to allow time to find a space. Might be wearing a t shirt underneath if it's no warmer.
Early night for DH as he's at Heathrow collecting his sister tomorrow morning. Mind you, we've had 3 messages with flight time changes in the last 48hrs. All in his favour though and the latest says arrival at 8.05am so she'll be through about 8.30am.
Izzy: well done on putting your foot down and getting Dh more involved. We tend to have a chat after breakfast regarding who's doing what each day.
Have a super Saturday everyone.11 -
Ruby - I do have internet banking but the limit is £2000. The tax man sent me a cheque for more than that!6
