Some people say that using notes and coins helps them to keep better track of their spending, but others reckon that a card is the best way to stop splurging.

What works best for you?

When choosing to spend less then it makes no difference, however can also spend less with cash unintentionally when you do want to buy something but didnt bring enough cash with you.

I find the opposite, she gets fed up with me and stops early if we are together. If I dont take her then she goes on her own and then comes back with many more bags of stuff.
  • I had had to declutter the house I was sharing with my sister and mum. She didn't want to get rid of anything at all. We now have a space that is less cluttered and more to our taste. We kept the items we really liked and donated the rest to charity shops. Now when we go shopping, we are more careful and discerning ( my sister's words) as we don't want to end up with more clutter that we cause. Saves us money and we enjoy the things we have. My mum always kept things" just in case" you needed it. We had sooo many bath towels, sheets and tea towels we could have stocked our own shop. She is no longer with us but we have items that make us smile now. Still love you mum x
