Help re mortgage and debt

Options
hello, hope someone somewhere can help as my mind is in turmoil! My partner and I have lived in our property for 8 years and stayed with our mortgage provider since the get go. We are now in a position where a new build has become available and we are jumping at the chance, problem is, we are struggling to find a mortgage! Our current provider will not lend to us due to debt level ( I am embarrassed to say we have about £80k between us but £20k of that is a car, I took bad PND after my baby and racked up £15k in debt, prior to that we have a £3k car bill and £9k the dogs insurance would bot pay out for). We have roughly £100k profit in our current home so will be clearing all debt minus the car and will still have enough for a 15% deposit and to cover costs for solicitors etc. realistically, do you think we will be able to get a mortgage somewhere? My partner has a late payment 16 months ago but no other adverse info on either credit files, and both our ‘ check my files’ are in excellent category! Thanks if you read this

Thank you! We could sell up and clear everything but not sure where we’d stay for a few months. And if a mortgage provider would even lend to us once we’ve cleared these debts

You should have options in theory.
The debt is a concern, but its explainable so should not be a deal breaker.

Speak to a broker. I think you will be ok.

I’m speaking with a broker tomorrow, fingers crossed. We could potentially just stay with our current provider and put every bit of spare money into debt over the next 2 years then look to move .. we just have such great equity at the moment
