I’m tempted to ask what might be a silly question. Does OP’s partner actually need an e-bike? What’s the distance, what’s the terrain? I ask because I know people who have just assumed an e-bike would be the right option for them, only to find that they can manage an ordinary bike quite easily and could have saved their money and bought a decent secondhand push bike.
