Good morning
Thank you for the start @Gers
Need to get some jobs done in the garden. It was sunny yesterday but the wind is chilly.
Take care
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.13 -
Morning allExpecting a warmer day today but it's still going to be quite breezy for the rest of the week. My poor little seedlings are still in their plastic greenhouse as the wind would batter them to oblivion if I planted them in the garden now :-(Ginger cake to make later and bed to change but apart from that will, hopefully, enjoy the sun in the garden this afternoon.Take care all and have a good day x11

Good morning, thanks for starting us Gers.
Another bright start to the day, although it's still a little chilly. The forecast looks good though.
We worked out how to use the coffee machine yesterday, to be honest it's not difficult. OH is now looking at milk frothers, he fancies himself as a barista I think. Still, it means I get my coffee made for me, so can't be bad.
I've taken a discounted shoulder of pork out of the freezer, it's large enough to cut into 2, so one I will roast and the other do as pulled pork. Will provide our meals over the weekend. Last night was fish and chips from the freezer.
Today I'm off to meet a friend. She messaged me yesterday with photos of a German Shepherd she has just rehomed. Looking forward to it, if they get on, her a big dog can go on walks together.
Not much more going on but I expect I'll find something that needs doing. Have a good day everyone, and hugs to all who need them. Take care.13 -
Back - all clean, shiny and slightly damp (hair) and ready to face what should be a lovely day.Yesterday was fine, I was down for another five hour session with a student with extra time, however, she finished well ahead of even the scheduled time so I was done by 12.15p.m. When I arrived home I found that the gardener had done not only 'green' stuff but tidied up the wind-disrupted top of the garden where a table and a couple of chairs had been thrown around by the storm. That meant I could take a cuppa out and sit there later.
Not that I really deserved it, mind you I was very tired after a long week just sitting watching others write. The exam was Higher History so the paper was interesting. These days the expectation is to be able to be critical of contrasting texts about a selection of events. No more remembering and spewing out dates of battles. I'd have enjoyed that when doing my Higher History, might even have meant that I passed it!
No real plans for today. There's a washing load chugging away in the machine and I'll probably head up for a little light shopping in a wee while. My nephew is doing a 300km cycling event starting in Usk so I'll be watching his progress on my mobile. That'll be my exercise for the day.@SO - that chilly wind is still hanging on, such a shame.Happy cooking, baking, gardening, slouching, painting, digging or shed building. Hugs to all.10 -
Morning all.
Sun's shining here and we're off on the train to do some geocaching in Battersea Park and have a general wander.
Had a good video call with Australia yesterday and DH has arranged where to meet his sister at Heathrow next weekend. I've booked us a pub Sunday lunch when they get back so hope she stays awake for that! Hadn't realised that she uses her Aussie passport to leave Sydney and her UK one to entre Heathrow, then vice versa. Save sorting out visas I guess.
Off and out now; have a super day everyone. Hope the sun's shining where you are.13 -
Morning all, thanks for the start @Gers. It's a beautiful day outside, cloudless blue sky and not a whisper of a breeze. We might even get up to 21 deg.
All planned tasks got done yesterday and I had a reminder email from my energy provider that my fixed rate is due to end soon so I'll have a look over the weekend to see what's on offer from them. I'd rather not change supplier but loyalty doesn't pay the bills.
As for today, I have a choice of what to do - if DS comes it will be decorating and, if not, I'll be cleaning the outside of the downstairs windows. Not really sure which I prefer!
Nothing else happening so I'll wish you all a good day whatever you might be doing. Take care and don't forget to slap on the sunscreen. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
