    Re groceries. We budget £350 per month for 2 of us & 2 cats. This also includes cleaning products, loo roll, etc. We meal plan, shop to a list & cook from scratch. It's perfectly doable with good planning. We eat well with plenty of variety.

    Agree with enthusiasticsaver, the rent stands out as it represents such a large proportion of your salaries. It will make it difficult to make meaningful savings by cutting other things back, when so much money goes on rent each month.

    Is your partner able to boost her income? Perhaps take on a second job?

    We are looking in to budgeting for groceries and pet for about £350/month.

    My partner is also looking in to boosting her income so hopefully we will be able to save more until my credit cards and loans default.
