Cabot Experience

Cabot have been writing to me for around 3 years for 2 credit cards debts they have supposedly bought. During this time they have wrote to me on numerous occasions, recently with increasing frequency. Is it usual for them to chase debts for so long without any engagement before seeking a CCJ? Does the length of time these have been outstanding without them taking any action imply it's likely they don't have the necessary evidence to enforce these debts?

You can't really deduce anything from them not starting a court claim. It's a commercial decision by them.
When did you last make a payment or otherwise acknowledge the debt?0 -
It's been around 4 years.0

They have 6 years to start a claim, and no, they won`t hold any paperwork for these accounts, that remains with the original creditor, so to find out the answer to that question, you must submit a CCA request, but I would hold off doing so until it becomes necessary.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. That was my thoughts too, the longer I leave it the less likely the original creditor will be able to supply the necessary documents.0
