It's a braw morning already although the temperature is still on the cold side. Much is ahead according to the forecast.Invigilation was fairly swift yesterday and I enjoyed the German papers, especially, the listening one. Lunch was home-made egg mayo on toast with tomatoes, had to use everything up. Later on I the spirit moved me to cut the grass. I don't quite know why I always hesitate as it only take 15 minutes at the most. Then I took the cuttings to the dump so I had a warm glow!Last night I really enjoyed the VE concert. I'm mostly wary of such concerts as they seem to be a long display of lots of egos, this one was so lovely. Many of the performers were new to me and all put the veterans right to the fore. The man who was 107 years old was simply amazing and the memories from other brought tears to my eyes. This morning it's History Higher, I anticipate having the candidates with more time again so it could be a long morning. Perhaps I'll hit lucky and be in with the normal-time students. I'd like to get back in the garden to carry on tiding the winter detritus.I hope that everyone also has a good day. Hugs to our poorlies.12

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It's sunny here as well!
It's only 2° outside at the moment but is forecast to warm up.
I'll be out this morning to visit an old friend, then I'll probably be in for the day. Plenty of jobs to do here though.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.12 -
Morning all. It was jolly chilly last night but the sun's shining this morning. Mind you, I've left the heating on for now!
Today we have a video call with family in Sydney, prior to SIL arriving next weekend; she'll certainly feel the drop in temperature. I then have some food shopping to do and a curry to make for tonight.
A small load of washing is in the machine, to make the most of the sunshine, and then I'll wash the towels later.
Not much else going on here so I hope you all have a good day.11 -
Morning! same here Scarlet, my feet are cold seeing as I put my slippers somewhere where I can't find them. My keyboard and mouse went p oo f so had to get new ones because the replacement ones I had on hand were just awful to use and then I couldn't be bothered to fight with them. Which means I need a new backup pair like these again because they're so easy to use. I've not been that busy, everything seems to take such a long time to do these days, and my heads all over the place with things I have to do. I can't keep it all in place and I'm getting rubbish at prioritising and sticking to one job. Maybe it's just spring is nearly summer...Nothing much new here though, same old same old, gardening, potting on, fence painting, all that kind of stuff...And I'm taking OHs mum to a local Scrapstore today so she can have a rummage and then I think I'll take her to the upcycle place [ also then I can look for some storage thingies]Camelot, sorry to hear your news. Izzy, hope your end of life care bloke is coping OK and his wife...Ruby, did he get the car in the end? Allie, yeah, car boot sales are fifty p jobbies now or less! remmie, have you played with the coffee machine yet? Rosy, hope your dgd can come through this, it's so upsetting when you can't give someone smooth sailing especially when they could really do with it. mehefin, good to know your new clerk is on the ball. Gers, hope it goes quickly today! Take care all, it's a bit nippy so wrap up or drink hot chocolateNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi11

Morning all from Mehefinland
Its a bit rinse and repeat here today an all fronts. Got a chap coming to do PAT testing for the council building stuff this morning so need to get my skates on.
Finally bit the bullet and took Dawn's phone into Mr T 's to sort out changing stuff over. A lovely young lady talked me through it all and got the wheels in motion. I'm keeping my number but changing it to her more modern phone as mine is dying rapidly - won't hold battery charge, and various other issues. It was quite an emotional experience in some ways - I still need to download photos off mine as I don't know if they will 'come over' , so another battle on the cards!
Put a new postbox up at the council yesterday evening - some bright spark had reversed a van or a big vehicle into the old one and it was completely mangled. Typically the hole centres were different and I took ages trying to drill into the stonework to get it up. Should have taken a mains drill with me! Any way it is on (a bit wonky) but i don't mind. I am more a Bodgit 'n' Scarper bloke than a perfectionist
Hope the poodles are recovering. Hugs and spoons as always. Must dash

Morning all. It's a calm and sunny morning here and should remain so all day with temperatures possibly reaching 19 deg. It's on the chilly side early mornings and evenings though so my heating is still in use for a couple of hours each day.
When I went for milk yesterday, as reported on the news, the Co-op shelves had lots of gaps, mainly fresh, chilled and frozen goods. It looked as if they'd just had a delivery and the ladies were busy shelf stacking. Luckily they did have what I needed and I also bought two YS items - two avocados and a twin pack of chicken Kyivs. I've had one avocado on toast this morning and one of the Kyivs last night for tea with side salad and oven chips; the other is in the freezer for another day.
I haven't found anything else for the CS bag yet so that outing has been moved to next week instead of today. I have the usual Friday admin to do as well as finish some sewing, so it's not as if I'll be idle!
I hope you all have a good day and something to look forward to over the weekend. Take care, hugs available if wanted or needed. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Morning all, lovely day again
thanks Gers. I had a nice walk in the park yesterday morning and then DH decided he wanted to go to the cafe at the side of a fishing lodge- it's the one where I meet my cousins. Lovely views. They held a 2 minute silence at 12 for VE day. One of the staff used to work at the place where we always took the DGC and DSons for any celebrations. They all got made redundant there as it was sold but nothing has ever been done with it & it's 2 years since she told us.She seemed really pleased we'd recognised her. We were pretty full after that and just had prawn cocktail for tea.
Picked up DGS and brought him here, he raced in the house to the freezer - he knew I was having a delivery, including his favourite ice creamPlenty in the fridge for tea now, will decide later.
Hope you all have nice weather and enjoy your day.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9 -
Morning folks. Frost again early doors but now really warm, just sat out with a coffee.
DD coming after school drop and we are off to Pateley Bridge for a browse. Some nice little independent shops. A yummy pork pie may be heading back with me from the award winning butchers too! DD staying tonight then we are off home tomorrow. Typical now the lovely weather is back!
GERS I enjoyed the concert last night too
Something for everyone.
Have a good day folks take care xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Morning everyone
Yesterday was another lovely sunny day, and we have a good forecast for the next few days.
My rug for the summerhouse came yesterday but unfortunately it is slightly too big, so it needs sent back - I've another one coming from Amazon today. I got one of the new chairs built so still have another chair and a little table to do - they're very comfy rattan rocking chairs.
I have some leftover vinyl flooring from when my kitchen was done so I'm going to put a piece of that down in the shed section - then put everything back in tomorrow.
Remmie, don't worry about it - I never remember who said what!
Gers I meant to say the other day, I'm thinking of going to see the Titanic exhibition too, I think it will be fascinating. I looked a couple of weeks ago and discovered I could fly there from Newcastle for less than £20, I'll have to have a look at hotels. Mind I've been thinking about it for a couple of years now.
I'll go down to mam and dads this morning then down to work.
Hope you all have a good day x9
