Call back confusion - how long do we wait?

Options
Here's the story so far. My wife registered for a call back. Eventually, about a month ago, she received the text message saying they'd call the next day. Of course, that didn't happen. Then about two weeks ago, she got a call from a "triage" handler asking for NIN and DoB. The handler said she should expect a call back to sort everything out in a day or two. Since, then absolutely nothing. Silence. She's definitely not missed the call as it would have been listed as such on her phone.
What's everyone else's experience of this? How soon after the "triage" call have you received a call back? Should we be worried?
TIA.

A callback from who exactly and about what?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Have you been sleeping these past few months ?
Neither of those messages have changed since originally posted in on line tax accounts.

I registered for a call back regarding paying extra national insurance contributions and I had a text message and then the first call from DWP, although it was some days after it was supposed to arrive. I was asked for my date of birth and national insurance number and told to expect a further call but wasn’t given a timescale. Friday evening I received another text message (worded exactly the same as the first one) this said I was to expect a call on Saturday between 8am and 4pm. Needless to say I didn’t get a call despite having my phone with me all day. I don’t usually have my phone permanently on my person but again I’ve carried it around today and still no call came. I’m still hoping I’ll maybe hear something tomorrow. I’ll update if and when I do hear anything so others know what to expect.

Were you given any timescale for having to pay now expired years ?

In my case, I only needed to complete payment for one year for 21/22 to qualify for a full state pension. I was told I have 31 days from today to make the payment either by bank transfer or that I could go into my local bank branch to do it. She told me the payment could take up to 8 weeks afterwards to show on my records.

It looks like the reported 31 days for out of time / price changed years is correct then.

I had no text warning me of a phone call, so when I did get the call I was out and did not know my NI number, they said they would call me the next day which they did, after 2 rings I answered only to be cut off! so I didn't get to speak to anyone, have not had any further calls, I am wondering if they do the same as cold callers and ring more than one number at a time ?  I really need to pay for my missing years as there were quite a few, I was on very low wages at one time so did not reach the threshold for paying NI conts, and because of my low wages could not afford voluntary conts at the time
